Hotel's Favorite
It’s been awhile since I’ve elected to stay in a hotel over an Airbnb. I wanted something special for my milestone birthday. I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical. That was certainly put immediately to rest when we drove up ( it’s in the middle of Uptown Charlotte so on a very busy street surrounded by sky scrapers.) we were immediately greeted by Ty who took care of us with charm and class and friendliness . That continued when we were greeted by Adam in a quiet elegant reception
Room so much better than a noisy front desk , where even at the best hotels I’ve had to wait in line. Adam was like being greeted by the perfect host to welcome us ,including our small pup, Sammy, into his own home. Knowledgeable , warm, great sense of humor ,also just as Ty,a class act . I felt an immediate sense of relief. Maybe I had chosen the best for my birthday after all . Our room, 207, was right up a lovely wrought iron stairway ( elevators are available ). It was gorgeous ! A bank of tall windows overlooking the city.. with thick double panes and heavy luxe black out curtains for sound control and privacy. The furnishings did wow right down to the Nespresso coffee maker , stocked mini
Bar, …the bed was heavenly with triple sheeting and a good variety of pillows to choose from. The sheets were so soft they seemed like they had also been ironed. The
Room felt like an old Parisian boudoir. Just beautiful . The bathroom had a wonderful soaking tub, separate shower , and separate WC . Plenty of Lush thick towels as well as lovely boutique vanity supplies.
One of the most appreciated and amazing things was the quietness of the hallways, the cleaning staff so unobtrusive and polite.
I forgot to mention the fabulous throw blanket on the bed! Sunday License makes them. They are thick and plush and just dreamy! They sell them downstairs in the small elegant boutique. My husband actually bought me one as a surprise birthday gift!!!
The location is great. Many places to eat drink and be merry within walking distance . We unfortunately didn’t get to try the attached lounge, Sophie’s bc it was closed to private parties each night. There is a stunning room near the lounge called the library . Books on shelves, chandeliers, self serve coffee and drinks .. sofas , chairs and a few tables. The look of an elegant Drawing room. Madison gave me a key to it when I asked for a later checkout time as I had a later flight out of Charlotte. It was a real treat!
We had great service and food at both Luce and The Capital Grill for dinners and the Cowboy grill for lunch.
We truly loved this hotel experience. When I checked out the last morning Adam was there with Madison. She was every bit as friendly and helpful as Adam. In fact we decided to stay again four days later on our return trip home.
Once again we were taken care of by Ty ,Adam , and Madison . There was another young gentleman also who was just as gracious though I didn’t get his name. The proprietor of the gift shop was also very personable.
So this IS now our / my home away from
home! I fly out of Charlotte several times a year to visit family in Fla. and will not hesitate to call on this wonderful staff at the Iveys!
Many thanks for a fabulous time!

Ivey's Hotel is an exquisite hotel my stay was impeccable. Attention to detail makes all the difference when it comes to a memorable experience. I decided to take my wife away for her birthday, to relax, and to luxuriate a bit. The experience exceeded my expectations. From the time I placed my reservation, to the time I checked out, I received nothing but pure professional, personalized lux service.
The airport is not too far from the hotel, which resulted in a short airport transfer. Upon arrival, our bags were whisked away by the valet. After pulling up our records, my wife was greeted with a happy birthday. It was so unexpected yet so welcoming. Within minutes, our keys were in our hands as we walked through the beautiful hallway, which smelt like heaven. We stayed in a balcony suite; the room was immaculate. If a picture is worth a thousand words, the real thing is tens of thousands.
Sophia’s lounge & the 5Church restaurant makes the experience full circle. We had some cocktails and dined the night away. It’s a complete package; you will not want to leave the premises, nor do you have to. I found our new getaway for peace, rejuvenation, and rekindling. My only regret was forgetting to purchase a soft blanket from the boutique downstairs. My wife fell in love with the throw blanket in our room; she would always snuggle on the couch with it. After check out Ivy and Mimi accommodated us by storing our bags until we were picked up.
Conclusion? We will be back.

Ivey's is located in the downtown area of Charlotte, NC and occupies the first two floors of a building that is otherwise used as residential housing. Everything about Ivey's was carefully designed with an incredible eye to detail. A personalized welcome card is in the room waiting, along with a split of campaign, and a scent so fresh I asked about it. It was a wonderful stay.

Me and my wife just left there yesterday 5/16/21 from an weekend trip to getaway for the two of us after just having a baby in February. I will say this was an great experience everyone was very courteous. We stayed in the city view king size room and enjoy the luxury experience. I will say the Tyler and Julian the Vallets was very great. Julian was prompt with getting our vehicle even with it being busy he kept it professional and very nice (I had a red Ford truck). Tyler was very personal with me and my wife he asked us how we are enjoying our stay, provided recommendations of nearby restaurants, also brought our luggage to our room and gave again very nice he was very helpful. I actually feel bad because I was unaware about giving cash tips that's what I thought the vallet service charge was for due to covid and cash exchange but they deserve everything and more. When we come back and see them we definitely will take extra care of them. Fabrice also was very professional at the reception desk and informative on some things I wasn't aware of after my stay. The refrigerator in the room was stocked full with drinks that I couldn't put some personal things in and I didn't know I could have requested to have the pre stock items removed instead. Fabrice let me know for the next time I come to request (we are coming back). The only thing to look out for is the fact that we stayed there over the weekend it a restaurant down stairs (5 church) that plays music all through the night which is out of the hotels hands the music is loud but at the same time it's not unbearable I can pretty much just hear the bass mostly from the room again it is let t night but it didn't stop me from sleeping type loud. Other than that the hotel is real nice from the rooms down to the hallways also the housekeeping was very good with cleaning it's one particular I don't know her name but it was an brown skin lady with glasses she was always speak when she seen us and nice me whatever we needed something she even stopped what she was currently doing for a second and helped. Great hotel and close to everything you can think off outside the hotel.

Overall is a very nice property, but could be much more. We enjoyed the physical hotel, but service was lacking on several issues. Elevator not working, no assistance offered to go upstairs with luggage. Charging $40 a night for valet is reasonable IF you have a valet available. Waited 25 minutes for car one morning, resulting in us being late for the event we came to attend. No valet upon return thus had to find someone to leave keys with. At checkout car was there, but no person to give us keys...other guests were rude and angry that we would not move our car(couldn't since we did not have the key!) Again no one offered assistance or tried to intervene and front desk had no one they were assisting at the time. Room was nice but the 2nd day no toiletries left in room AND they had removed partial used bottles. Front desk was polite, but remaining services need work to be a 5 star property. Also beware...room is very noisy, but they do provide earplugs(so they are aware)

My fiancé and I celebrated our anniversary at The Ivey’s. The team exceeded any expectations. The rooms are uniquely designed and immaculate. Knowing it was a special occasion, there were delicious chocolates and bubbly welcoming us to our suite! We brought our Jack Russell with us and the property is set up well for your four-legged fur babies, too. After enjoying a drink at the library bar, we ordered room service. The food from 5Church was delivered quickly and was fantastic. Steak, pasta, fries, way too much food for two people, but certainly no complaints. We had a corner suite, so great views especially being in the middle of Uptown Charlotte. We loved the suites layout with separate his/hers bathroom with large tub and shower, bedroom and living room areas. It was rainy the next morning, otherwise I would have loved to drink coffee on the balcony. It is an incredible set up, sophisticated and comfortable with dynamite service, and we can’t wait to book a staycation in the near future!

I loved this hotel a lot and enjoyed my stay there. I was traveling during the Coronavirus Pandemic, so the hotel was completely empty, and all its facilities were closed. The hotel’s location is very good. It is located in a nice part of Downtown Charlotte. The day I arrived, I was allowed to have an early check-in at 11 a.m. The front desk person was very nice and friendly. The hotel was ideally clean. I really liked its old fashioned design and its vibe. There is a cute little store with many nice and interesting goods between the lobby and the elevator. Make sure you check it out! My room (#207) was very nice and ideally clean. It was super stylish and its size was huge! The bathroom was huge too. There was a large shower there, a big comfortable bath and the actual toilet was separated by a different door. The bathroom amenities were of a very good quality. I also liked that they provided bath salts for a relaxing bath. There were like 12 towels in the bathroom. Bathrobes were so soft and comfortable! I really liked the King Bed in my room, which was super comfortable! Wi-Fi was working super fast. For the 3 days that I stayed in my room, I never had room service. But when I called to the front desk and asked for something, they brought that thing to me right away. I would totally stay in this hotel again when I come back to Charlotte. And I absolutely recommend it for a stay!

Stayed here a couple nights last week and it really surpassed my expectations in so many ways. Great location, VERY quiet (this was important because of noise comments at other big hotels downtown), extremely nice staff, and really beautiful and well-appointed rooms. I will absolutely stay here again. Having said that, I noticed that after I checked in, instead of the $700-ish bill I was expecting for my stay, they’d charged over $1700 — plus they doubled the cost of the room service breakfast for the first day (ie., charged $44 for two $5 bowls of yogurt and a cup of tea instead of the $22 including tip and fees that it should have been). I went down to talk to staff & they said it was clearly wrong & would correct, but it was still wrong on check-out day. So, I again talked to a different person at the desk & he also said it was wrong & would talk to the “auditor” and they’d call me around 5 p.m. Never called. Took one more phone call when I got home to get everything straightened out. Plus, and a minor thing, but I tried repeatedly to get a room service breakfast the second day and the front desk promised twice to have housekeeping drop off a menu, but never happened. (I even wrote a note to room service and taped it on my door the night before with what I wanted, but they never took the note.). So, definitely some service glitches that should be addressed.

We were looking for a boutique hotel for a mini weekend romantic getaway while passing through the Charlotte area, and this one exceeded our expectations! We felt like pampered guests from the moment of our arrival. This elegant, upscale hotel is absolutely breathtaking with its art deco decor at every turn. Our sophisticated room was spacious and featured a gorgeous comfy king bed with upholstered headboard. We were happy we arrived in time for the complimentary wine and cheese at "The Library" and from there, had a drink at "Sophia's" before heading to dinner at a restaurant steps away (although we would have liked to try the restaurant on site as well.) The next morning, we especially enjoyed the "N'espresso" machine in the room. We are frequent travelers to upscale resorts, especially in the Caribbean, and have stayed at some of TripAdvisor's best, and I rank this among those at the top. I highly recommend it and would jump at the opportunity to stay again. We also hope to visit the owners' other property in Miami.

My wife and I went for a Christmas stay at the Ivey's Hotel in Charlotte. It was outstanding! The location was ideal, in the heart of downtown Charlotte and within walking distance to a number of great restaurants and bars. There are so many great things to do in and around Charlotte.
The hotel itself was very charming and romantic and exactly what I was looking for for a Holiday trip with my wife. It was nicely decorated with pictures and memorabilia from the old Ivey's department store which really provided it its unique character. The room was was great and the bed was very comfortable.
I can't say enough about all of the staff, they could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Adam took my initial reservation and remembered me when I was checking in which, I thought, was impressive. He was very helpful during check-in and provided a number of great suggestions on places to go and things to see in Charlotte. Madison and Allison were always available for questions and restaurant suggestions. As a matter of fact, Madison recommended a restaurant and an entrée which my wife absolutely loved. We were so impressed with all of the staff, the cleanliness of the hotel, its quaint and romantic atmosphere and its location, we will definitely be going back, particularly during the Christmas Holiday season.
We used the valet parking option and Brad and Kayleigh went above and beyond. Always wishing us well when we were leaving, asking us if we needed help or directions and greeted us when we returned, very welcoming. This hotel is every bit of its 5 rating.

Hi Meg0905,
Thanks for the question! Our City View and Atrium rooms both offer the same furnishings and amenities and have a similar floor plan, although each room is unique. Both room types have some floor plans with bathtubs and showers. While we cannot guarantee a room with a bathtub upon booking, we will certainly do everything we can to accommodate that request if made prior to arrival.
