5 star does not define this bed and breakfast. I have never stayed anywhere in the United States that aimed at this type of perfection. When you first walk in the door, you can feel and smell the cleanliness. The hostess (Cheryl) of this unique bed and breakfast is a breath of fresh air and aims to please her guests, as she utilizes individuality. She is also a phenomenal chef, and has great staff that supports her. This bed and breakfast definitely exceeded my expectations!

My husband and I were "blown away" by the outstanding hospitality and the delicious 3-course breakfast served. Ms. Elsie's Caribbean Bed & Breakfast is in a class all by itself. We felt like family, and Cheryl went over & beyond to make our stay incredibly enjoyable! We are definitely planning to come back and highly recommend this B&B!My husband and I were "blown away" by the outstanding hospitality and the delicious 3-course breakfast served. My new home away from home. My friends and I just celebrated our first annual 50 plus Homegirl weekend with at Ms. Elsies's B&B, I must say that we had the best experience ever. Cheryl made us feel like we were family, we felt the love upon our entrance into the home. The atmosphere was very welcoming, warm and inviting. Cheryl and her staff were Amazing, the food was exceptional as well as the hospitality. I must say my friends and I didn't want to leave; we will definitely stay here again.

I booked this "Inn" in November, 2008 as a surprise ending of our trip to Charlotte in May, 2009 during Race Week for my husband and I. The website described this "Inn" as a caribbean retreat near upscale shopping. We arrived at the "Inn", which turned out to be someone's personal ranch style home. We were greeted by a man profusely apologizing for the laundry he was doing in the living room which was spread out all over the furniture. A young boy was watching tv in this living room. What I had believed was an "Inn" was nothing of the sort, but someone's actual home. We were shown the room we had reserved which appeared to be a very nice master bedroom. The beautiful pool shown on the website was green and looked like it had not been cleaned yet for the season. It was very awkward standing in this person's house while this child stared at us. My husband and I were so concerned I told him I wanted to cancel the reservation, as it was NOTHING like it was described. Having lived on the east coast my entire life, I have been to numerous Inns and Bed & Breakfasts', but NEVER have I ever been to one which was actually someone's personal home where we would be sharing the living room, kitchen, etc. I felt that this "Inn" was totally misrepresented and if I had known that someone was "renting out" their master bedroom, I never would have booked this in the first place.

Originally from Brooklyn, NY, I moved to Charlotte, NC some time ago, and have been begging friends to come down to the South and visit. Of course, the weekend they decided to come, I was having renovations done on the house...(Of course)
I decided to book the King Suite at Ms. Elsies, since it would be 3 of us, and I'd read about it in a Essence magazine feature some years ago. I called and spoke to Cheryl Watkins, the owner, and warned her that 3 women who went to HS together wanted to have a sort of ladies night experience there, and would there be any issues ( I anticipated alot of giggling and good girl times that weekend). Cheryl was great from the start, and when we arrived there, we immediately felt like we were in Aruba!! You really do forget that the your still in the continental US...lol.
The place is gorgeous, flawless, awesome!....Not enough can be said about the feeling you get when she gives you a tour. The KingSuite made us feel like celebrities, and the bathroom........oh my gosh.....the bathroom is fit for the rulers of a dynasty! We had a great time, and the 3 course breakfast is something that must be experienced. The fruit plate alone....You just stare at it in awe ( I'd never seen starfruit before). We had a great time, and I'm sorry I didn't have my long distance boyfriend book this room the last time he came down and wanted to do something special for me : D A must see and stay for anyone visiting Charlotte, or who just wants to get away from their own home.

My wife and I had our 7th Wedding Anniversary Celebration here and Cheryl and her staff did a superb job! It is a friendly atmosphere and environment. Cheryl went to great lengths to accomodate everyone. The food was exceptional and everything went off spectacularly! Cheryl Watkins is a very gracious hostess. Being the proprietor of a B&B has to be a lot of work, but Cheryl makes it seem effortless. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Charlotte. We will certainly use this wonderful place again!

My husband took me here to celebrate my 50th birthday, this was our very first stay at a bed and breakfast, we really didn't know what to expect, I must say we loved every minute of our stay, Mrs. Cheryl is an awesome host, from the time we walked through the door, until the time we left we felt and was treated like a part of the family, the place is wonderful and our room was unbelievable, every part of it was so amazing, the bathroom was out of this world! I absolutely love Ms. Elsie's bed and breakfast, we had a wonderful 3 course breakfast, and it was amazing, I did not want to leave, and I am looking forward to my next stay.

Ms. Elsie's Caribbean B&B was marvelous. In the cold weather I really felt like I was in the Caribbean. The room was decorated beautifully for the Valentine's Weekend and clean. The location is excellent in walking distance to many stores. We really enjoyed the Caribbean theme and the food was scrumptious. We enjoyed one of my favorite dishes, Shrimp and grits. Cheryl and her staff were very friendly. We are looking forward to our next visit at Ms. Elsie's B&B.

Elsie welcomed us into heaven, I have never experienced such a peaceful environment. I was so relaxed even my soul was very relaxed. The room was amazing the food was wow... Amazing. Talking with Elsie was like talking to a life long friend. It was like she knew me and my wife desires before we said anything. Anytime we come back to Charlotte if there is room we will be staying here with Elsie.
If you want a peek into heaven go here and you will not want to leave.... Trust and Believe... Truth has come to you~
