Elsie welcomed us into heaven, I have never experienced such a peaceful environment. I was so relaxed even my soul was very relaxed. The room was amazing the food was wow... Amazing. Talking with Elsie was like talking to a life long friend. It was like she knew me and my wife desires before we said anything. Anytime we come back to Charlotte if there is room we will be staying here with Elsie. If you want a peek into heaven go here and you will not want to leave.... Trust and Believe... Truth has come to you~

I made a mistake on our arrival date and Cheryl was so kind to call and check on our progress. We had stopped for the evening 45 minutes away. She suggested that we I could check in and it was after 10:30 at night. We were upgraded upon arrival and it was a beautiful room. The breakfast was really good early the next morning by our request because we were headed for the PGA event. They always wanted to know how they could work with our schedule. It is within 5 minutes of BoJangles Coliseum, which was the pick-up point for the PGA bus service, and some great restaurant and 10 minutes to a big mall.

Lovely experience staying at Ms. Elsie's in Charlotte. Traveling on business but would love to come back and enjoy again with family! Wonderful, gorgeous breakfast. Super friendly hosts, beautiful and spotless room. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

My Wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Ms. Elsie's while visiting family in Charlotte. What appeared to be a private family home, turned out to be a rather unique adventure. Upon stepping over the threshold, we departed Charlotte, and entered a warm and Friendly Caribbean Vacation. As miss Cheryl, the Proprietor, welcomed us, we felt as if we were a part of the Family. Her passion for life and her Grandmother Ms Elsie, fulfilled her dream of creating an Inn where all who entered could experience the Warm Love of the Caribbean People. Breakfast was a work of Art, which only a labor of love could produce. As much as we look forward to visiting once again with Family, we equally are looking forward to being with Cheryl and the Warm memories of Her Grandmother, Ms. Elsie! Truly a Blessing.

My husband took me here to celebrate my 50th birthday, this was our very first stay at a bed and breakfast, we really didn't know what to expect, I must say we loved every minute of our stay, Mrs. Cheryl is an awesome host, from the time we walked through the door, until the time we left we felt and was treated like a part of the family, the place is wonderful and our room was unbelievable, every part of it was so amazing, the bathroom was out of this world! I absolutely love Ms. Elsie's bed and breakfast, we had a wonderful 3 course breakfast, and it was amazing, I did not want to leave, and I am looking forward to my next stay.

Ms. Elsie's Caribbean B&B was marvelous. In the cold weather I really felt like I was in the Caribbean. The room was decorated beautifully for the Valentine's Weekend and clean. The location is excellent in walking distance to many stores. We really enjoyed the Caribbean theme and the food was scrumptious. We enjoyed one of my favorite dishes, Shrimp and grits. Cheryl and her staff were very friendly. We are looking forward to our next visit at Ms. Elsie's B&B.

My wife and I had our 7th Wedding Anniversary Celebration here and Cheryl and her staff did a superb job! It is a friendly atmosphere and environment. Cheryl went to great lengths to accomodate everyone. The food was exceptional and everything went off spectacularly! Cheryl Watkins is a very gracious hostess. Being the proprietor of a B&B has to be a lot of work, but Cheryl makes it seem effortless. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Charlotte. We will certainly use this wonderful place again!

Stayed there for three weeks. Felt like at home. This family run inn give you good feeling as you step in. Nice and comfortable room. Delicious breakfast and friendly people. I was helped with doing my laundry at home so never needed to look for laundry out. What else can you ask for?

Originally from Brooklyn, NY, I moved to Charlotte, NC some time ago, and have been begging friends to come down to the South and visit. Of course, the weekend they decided to come, I was having renovations done on the house...(Of course) I decided to book the King Suite at Ms. Elsies, since it would be 3 of us, and I'd read about it in a Essence magazine feature some years ago. I called and spoke to Cheryl Watkins, the owner, and warned her that 3 women who went to HS together wanted to have a sort of ladies night experience there, and would there be any issues ( I anticipated alot of giggling and good girl times that weekend). Cheryl was great from the start, and when we arrived there, we immediately felt like we were in Aruba!! You really do forget that the your still in the continental US...lol. The place is gorgeous, flawless, awesome!....Not enough can be said about the feeling you get when she gives you a tour. The KingSuite made us feel like celebrities, and the bathroom........oh my gosh.....the bathroom is fit for the rulers of a dynasty! We had a great time, and the 3 course breakfast is something that must be experienced. The fruit plate alone....You just stare at it in awe ( I'd never seen starfruit before). We had a great time, and I'm sorry I didn't have my long distance boyfriend book this room the last time he came down and wanted to do something special for me : D A must see and stay for anyone visiting Charlotte, or who just wants to get away from their own home.

I booked this "Inn" in November, 2008 as a surprise ending of our trip to Charlotte in May, 2009 during Race Week for my husband and I. The website described this "Inn" as a caribbean retreat near upscale shopping. We arrived at the "Inn", which turned out to be someone's personal ranch style home. We were greeted by a man profusely apologizing for the laundry he was doing in the living room which was spread out all over the furniture. A young boy was watching tv in this living room. What I had believed was an "Inn" was nothing of the sort, but someone's actual home. We were shown the room we had reserved which appeared to be a very nice master bedroom. The beautiful pool shown on the website was green and looked like it had not been cleaned yet for the season. It was very awkward standing in this person's house while this child stared at us. My husband and I were so concerned I told him I wanted to cancel the reservation, as it was NOTHING like it was described. Having lived on the east coast my entire life, I have been to numerous Inns and Bed & Breakfasts', but NEVER have I ever been to one which was actually someone's personal home where we would be sharing the living room, kitchen, etc. I felt that this "Inn" was totally misrepresented and if I had known that someone was "renting out" their master bedroom, I never would have booked this in the first place.
