This Holiday inn has the best staff any hotel can have. Holly went above and beyond with local information, information on our future stops and help with dinner. The room was quiet and comfortable Dinner in the restaurant, is the best Italian in Charlotte. We were provided with all the information we needed and local knowledge was spot on.
I stayed in this hotel in April 2022 while attending a concert at BOA stadium. Great location and within walking distance to everything in Uptown CLT. PROS: location, friendly front desk staff, room was large (king suite), clean. CONS: mattress in major need of changing (lumpy, deep indentions, uncomfortable), room furniture in need of updating (worn, dated), coffee machine in room didn't work, hallway noise very loud in room. This was a very busy hotel the weekend we stayed. Overall was a good stay but, could use some updating. Good value for the location however.
We stayed here for a concert at the Spectrum Center. The Spectrum Center is just about around the corner and across the street from the hotel. Closer than the more expensive hotels. Hotel staff was very friendly. Bed is comfortable. Room was a little dated but clean. It also had a microwave and mini refrigerator. People down the hall, about 3 rooms down, were having a little pre concert party with loud music. We were surprised that we couldn’t hear them from our room. We didn’t hear the music until we were in the hallway. Forchetta restaurant in the hotel was horrible. They work hard, but it’s supposed to be an Italian Restaurant. I have eaten better canned “Italian” food. I ordered lasagna and it was more like tomato soup with questionable meat, no ricotta cheese and some mushy noodles. If you have ever eaten Chef Boyardee it’s even worse than that. I hate writing a negative review but paying $18 for a bowl of tomato soup with meat and some cheese isn’t even worth a can of Chef Boyardee. I know I’m repeating myself but the employees do work very hard and I did appreciate that.…
I would like to commend your staff working on Saturday 04/02/2022 and Sunday 04/03/2022. From front desk to maintenance staff to the restaurant staff (not sure if they're part of the hotel). My 78-year-old mother was one of the passengers whose flight were cancelled. So, she was given a voucher from American Airlines to your property. English is my mother's second language, and your front desk were very helpful even with the language barrier. Staff were so patient when she had to call me so I can help translate. My mother said the hotel was beautiful and her room was clean. Again, I appreciate your hospitality, patience, and the empathy given to my senior mother.
Front desk staff are almost laughably rude, arrogant, and unhelpful. Rooms are small and outdated. The bed I slept in was shaped like a bowl and in dire need of replacement. There are a dozen hotels within walking distance of this Holiday Inn that are similar in price. Pick any of those over this hotel. The only thing worse than the rooms is the attitude of the people that work there.
You have to train your reception desk people to be friendlier and more welcoming. The guy who checked us in was behaving like a prison warden. The receptionists don’t even look in your eyes. They talk to you without even looking at you. Very disrespectful! They never cleaned our room. Apparently we were supposed to let them know. Due to Covid they don’t show up without you asking for the service. We booked a room for 3 and were only given two towels. The food at the so-called Italian restaurant La Forchetta is horrible, at least for breakfast. Nothing Italian about the their dishes. Waste of money…!!
After being stranded with our extended family of 10, including 4 grandchildren, due to flight delays over 3 days, this hotel saved us from what could easily have been an even more nightmare-ish vacation. We want to particularly extend our deepest gratitude and thanks to Molly, Joey, JJ, and Jay at the front desk who were so deeply touched by our situation, and spared us from even more despair that we could have had after missing a long-planned family Disney cruise due to travel delays. The dining room as well, with Sam the manager, who generously showed so much hospitality to our family whenever we came in. And to the head chef, Luca, who was so dear to our grandchildren with his wonderful sense of humor and Italian accent. And his lasagna was truly to die for! Again, thanks to you all. You gave us joy in the middle of a joyless situation!…
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Charlotte for the ACC Championship Game Weekend. The hotel was clean and the rooms spacious. The staff was very helpful at check-in. The property is conveniently located in Downtown Charlotte and is a short walk from the NASCAR HOF, Bank Of America Stadium, Truist Field and a variety of other bars, restaurants, and other attractions. The only negatives from this stay were getting from the hotel to the parking garage and back was a little bit of a walk and if you forgot to get your parking pass validated it was a pain to get back to the lobby. They also had some of the doors locked that are normally open due to COVID, which required you to walk around to the front instead of coming in right by the elevators.
Booked this hotel because it’s very close to the Spectrum Center. It was much less expensive than hotels all around it. PRO: easy access from I277, excellent price and location, comfortable bed, loads of food choices nearby CON: lots of street noise
It's a Holiday Inn, so you know what you're gonna get, and you get it. Satisfaction and expectations met, and I've never had a bad experience. JJ and everyone at the front desk are fantastic. JJ takes customer service to a new level.
