Was pleasantly surprised to find this motel to be clean, and everything functional. Rooms are small and not fancy but certainly adequate. Very quiet at night. Arrived on the ferry after 6 pm when the office closed so had to call them. They were very helpful.
This week of RVing was a small piece of HEAVEN! The sunrises are amazing. The beach is so flat you can walk forever. Went sunrise horseback riding. Dori showed me the wild horses and cows!! We will be back ❤️
No complaints whatsoever. If they had a hot tub, I would have rated 5stars. It's a small, yet cozy motel and was very comfortable. The grill across the street was really good and the bartender was excellent. I'm definitely coming back but I plan on staying and bringing my camper.
I really enjoyed the two nights and three days here. Kayaking is beautiful in the estuary, horseback riding was awesome! We saw wild cows and horses on a secluded beach. This is so worth the money. The guide on our ride was wonderful, very safe horses and attentive guide.
This is a motel in off season. If I hadn’t read a previous review regarding the lack of services, my husband and I would have been stranded for food for the night and the next morning. Luckily I did read it and we had dinner in the town before arriving and we brought a thermos for coffee the next morning. I wish there website and other apps like Trip Advisor would make the remoteness more obvious for this property. The WIFI was out because of wind and there is no one on the property AT ALL if you need anything. I was told the maintenance person had gone to bed so no chance of a WIFI reset. We stayed there only because we were catching an early ferry the next morning. I would advise people to stay in town, avoid this place and drive to ferry early in the morning.
I called to make reservations for my daughter and I for a motel room and horseback ride. Dori could not have been more accommodating. When I reserved our ride, I didn't realize it would mean missing the ferry. I called back and Dori worked her magic and created a special ride time for us. She was so friendly and kind, I couldn't wait to meet her. We weren't disappointed in any way. Dori and Hannah made us feel so welcome. We were able to check in early. Our room was very clean. The beds were comfortable and a restaurant was next door. The first thing we saw on our walk on the beach was a sea otter rolling around in the sand. When we took the 90 minute horse ride, we saw a wild cow and the wild Spanish horses, including a pony! The ride through the water was amazing. Dori led the…
We stayed in early March. Used our Passport America so no sewer. no problem dump station near by. Windy most of the time, but walk on beach was great. We put our chair in front of our door to keep cows from pooping in front, :-) they were fun otherwise to see. Parked right next to ferry and riding stable. Quiet and really pleasant. Took day trip to Ocracoke. Nothing open, but a fun exploration. We stayed in RV Park
My daughter and I went out on the 90 minute Sunset Ride, and it was magical. Seriously, it was incredibly special. The horses were gentle, the sunset was incredible, the leaders were personable and positive. We will make this a regular trip, and we’ll bring along more friends and family.
This is last hotel before the ferry, I stay there because is too late to catch ferry, and I got rash all over my body, it just terrible. If you can planning your trip ahead, early ferry its 7:30 in the morning, so planning carefully
When the owner/manager/support staff argues what kind of poop is in your camp site, either horse or cow, you know you are in deep siht!!! From there it’s downhill with no rest and relaxation. They are milking the COW with the proximity to the ferry. Stay away from this offering..a disgrace to the North Carolina tourism industry. Thx for taking the time to read.
