Stayed in Room 338, Saturday night, June 12, 2021. After a busy day moving my daughter from an apartment to a house, our family was looking forward to grabbing some dinner and relaxing. We had stopped and picked up our food and went to our room. The key cards did not work, even though they had earlier in the day. The front desk told us that we must have held them close to our cell phone and that they would refresh the cards. Again, they did not work. We called and a maintenance worker showed up quickly. He said the lock mechanism needed a battery. After waiting about 30 minutes, we went to the lobby to use the microwave to reheat our food. The front deck receptionist gave us a little flack about using the breakfast area even though the door was wide open. We were then told that a manager would need to come to the hotel and fix the problem. In all, we were locked out of our Room for 2 hours!!! We received no apology and were only informed by the maintenance guy that the door "was fixed". Very unprofessional. Needless to say, we won't be back and will not recommend this hotel to anyone else. In the past, we have preferred Hampton because of their bed quality. No More!!!!…
This property is walking distance of downtown Carrboro and Chapel Hill. The new building is well-appointed, rooms are nicely sized with local touches, and the staff are helpful. Plenty of interesting food options steps away.
We needed a room for just one night and chose the Carrboro Hampton Inn. It is quite conveniently located on the border of Chapel Hill and Carrboro. The hotel is a few years old but is well-maintained with an adjacent parking garage (about $12/day to park there). Our room was quite large with an okay view, it was clean and well-equipped, and the bathroom was well-stocked. In-room media had a good range of channels while the internet comes at a fee if you want reasonable service. There is free WiFi though it is quite slow. The free “breakfast” includes packaged items such as granola bars and waffles they also provide some whole fresh fruit. If you want something more, there is a good biscuit place and other regular restaurants an easy walk away. The bed was quite comfortable and the in-room HVAC offered a comfortable environment without a lot of noise.…
Started doing some water thing in the middle of my stay. Was told it would be finished within the hour - except it wasn't. Had to take a cold shower from the sink because the water pressure was nonexistent in the shower and hot water wasn't working.
I’ve stayed at this specific Hampton / Hilton a few times over past few years while visiting family and service is friendly and very accommodating. Plus the pool area is great when open. Location is excellent - markets, music venues, walking trail, and fun sports bar right next door.
