My wife and I along with our lab Hazle recently enjoyed a three night stay in the Potting Shed cabin. It was great escape from the holiday hustle. Everything about he cabin and its location was perfect. Late check-in was no problem. The cabin was tastefully furnished, the gas fireplace was cozy and the bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was the first time we have rented a cabin in the Asheville area and we couldn't be more pleased with the accommodations.
Before arrival we inquired about the fireplace in our reserved cabin(Mockingbird) We were told that it was out of order, as the gas line wasn’t working We were assured that we would be refunded a portion of the cost. This hasn’t happened. When we checked in were were greeted by a sullen acting clerk . Not a welcoming experience after a six hour drive. The cabin was fine. The drain in the tub was clogged. The dishes and silverware weren’t clean. The bed was okay. The scenery was excellent. The location was great. It could have been an exceptional stay, but I would only rate it average at best.
This is the most beautiful and peaceful property. Our cabin sat on the hill just above the rushing stream with views of the mountains. The cabin was cozy, clean and had anything and everything needed for a comfortable stay. The grounds provide plenty to do from a scenic walk stream side, campfire, horse shoes, volleyball, BBQ, floating etc. We started and ended our days on the our front porch enjoying a cocktail and swinging in their amazingly comfortable porch swing chairs. Check in and out was super easy. Instructions were provided for everything you need to know about the cabin and property. Recommendation book provided for activities and restaurants. Asheville, Biltmore etc. just a short 20-25 minute drive. If you are debating, book a cabin here...you won’t regret it!!!
I stayed in the Tiny Home when on a road trip through the Carolinas. Mountain Springs is located in a quiet, very pretty retreat ~20 minutes outside of Asheville. The grounds were green, leafy, and tranquil. The tiny home was comfortably furnished and stocked with amenities including a fridge, stove, kitchenware, shower, toilet, table and chairs, and bed... well thought out! Parking is also convenient. That said, I would warn tenants to be sure to keep very clean and not leave food out, as I had an issue with an ant infestation.
I spent three nights at Mountain Springs Cabins in November staying in the Potting Shed while on a road trip through the Carolinas and Georgia with a friend who was visiting from the UK. We wanted a peaceful little retreat in the woods without sacrificing too many home comforts and somewhere we could use as a base for hiking in the mountains while also being close to the restaurants and breweries in downtown Asheville. MSC fit the bill to a tee and really does offer the best of both worlds. The property is gorgeous and our cabin was so cosy - well-appointed, sparkling clean and thoughtfully decorated to feel like a home away from home. It was actually larger than we had both expected and could definitely accommodate four people with ease and up to six if you used the sleeper sofa in the living area. The beds were very comfortable and I slept like a log thanks to all the fresh air, peace and quiet! It was lovely to sit and read on the couch by the gas log fire on cold nights and the heating/AC system keeps the cabin toasty. The mornings were a bit too chilly for sitting out but the rocking chairs and swing on the porch would be lovely in warmer weather. We ate out every night as Asheville has so many great restaurants but the spacious and well-equipped kitchen had everything you'd need if you wanted to stay in and cook. Checking in and out was very straightforward and we really appreciated the helpful tips for good local hikes from the office staff. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I return to Asheville and will be recommending MSC to friends. …
