The McKinley Edwards Inn garners praise for its spotless accommodations and well-maintained grounds, with numerous guests lauding the cleanliness and the cozy charm of the hotel. The service receives accolades for its welcoming nature and tasty breakfast, although one guest found the breakfast offerings to be less than generous. While guests appreciate the comfortable amenities, some suggest that the pricing may not fully reflect the value, citing issues like hard pillows and high beds. Additionally, while the overall atmosphere is described as quaint, there are mentions of areas that could benefit from modernization.

This is, IMHO, the nicest place in Bryson City. Quaint and quiet. very nice grounds with many terraces to gather either in groups or just yourself. Koi pond under the walkway bridge with the buildings nestled in a shady grove of trees encompasses the rooms. Stone walkways wander all around. Our room was on the third floor and was recently remodeled. It was very large, well appointed and offered typical amenities (refrigerator, microwave, TV) along with a comfortable sleeper couch, and a very comfortable king size bed. The air conditioner helped cool down the very hot days we were there, but I suspect on cooler days the cool evening could be enjoyed with just the ceiling fan. As a note, this building is an older lodge and has no elevator and the second flight of stairs to the third floor are steeper than the first set to the second floor. Posed no problem for my wife and I who are a few years beyond retirement age. The road up to the lodge is paved well but steep and windy. The right turn into the driveway is sort of hidden and sharp, at least the first time you find the drive. Breakfast was very good. Fruit, microwave oatmeal, but also hot egg entrees (I can't eat eggs but my wife liked hers). Coffee was good! Toast, Bagels, Waffles are all options as well. The dining room is all windows allowing great open feeling while dining. We loved this place and we look forward to returning here in the future as our stay was that nice.

The Innkeepers Janice and John-Marc were great. No matter what we needed, they were willing to help. One morning we were leaving before breakfast started, so the night before John-Marc made sure we had fruit, yogurt and even a breakfast quiche to pop in our room microwave. They provided great suggestions on what to visit and where to eat. The property is beautiful and well maintained with lots of little areas to sit in the shade and enjoy the views. We will be returning in the future!

The McKinley Edwards B&B was a wonderful location for an overnight stay, centrally located to downtown Bryson City and a beautiful setting with views of the Smoky Mountains. The feeling was a mountain chalet with lovely landscaping and a private feeling of solitude. The owners were fabulous, friendly and welcoming, even returned a piece of jewelry to me by mail that I accidentally left behind. The breakfast was scrumptious and beautifully presented. Our room, Marie Edwards Alemany, was large and nicely decorated with its own deck area with rocking chairs to enjoy the scenery.

Quaint Inn setting with many personal touches, such as a fire pit with S’mores and a beautiful water garden. But the room in which we stayed (Hummingbird) is in significant need of updating. The TV is small, has a dark image and is ancient. There is no functional area for hanging clothes…only a small Armoire full of shelving and ironing supplies. The mirror in the bathroom is hung at a level only a 4 foot child could use without stooping over. The shower has a faucet and handle that are totally loose and close to falling off. The bed pillows were so hard we used the sham pillows to sleep. The breakfast is rather meager with only one small “hot item” to which you are limited to one small serving. Very nice setting and location, but hardly worth the price.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The inn is a historic building so does not have some of the feature a modern chain hotel may have. The pillows are all new memory foam pillows and we would have been happy to give you different pillows if you had requested them. The shower handle has been addressed, thank you. Our breakfast consists, of a variety of fresh fruits, yogurts, granola, oatmeal, waffles, assorted breads and a hot egg dish so we do not consider it meager. We appreciate you staying with us.

This inn served a breakfast which always included a homemade quiche and a vast array of continental breakfast items. You could eat in the lovely dining room or outdoors on a shady patio. The service was excellent and the landscaping around the grounds was beautiful. We stayed in a room on the ground floor that was tastefully decorated. I would stay there again if we go back to ride the train.

We had a second visit at McKinley Inn and it was as lovely as our first stay. The couple who run this place go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The outdoor garden and patio spaces are so nice for enjoying the fresh air and warm evenings. One night included a gathering at the outdoor firepit with all the fixings to roast marshmallows and make s'mores. The tucked away location on the hill makes for a perfect getaway yet just a minute drive downhill to the main street of Bryson City. Most rooms have a patio or balcony with rocking chairs. Breakfast includes a hot item plus many continental type options including fresh fruit, juice and coffee. The windowed dining room is lovely. McKinley is a charming place with spacious and comfortable accommodations. We will be back.

We loved staying here at the McKinley Edwards Inn. The hosts were gracious and anxious to please to make our stay enjoyable. The dining room is comfortable and a wonderful, homemade breakfast is included with your stay. one of the best things about the Inn is that there are only 12 rooms, which lends itself to peace and quiet. The location is just 2-3 minutes from "downtown" Bryson City , so very close to everything that Bryson City has to offer. We would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at the McKinnlyEdwards Inn immensely. It was very unique with beautiful scenery and a laid back feel. Our favorite time was early morning. We would be first in the beautiful cozy dining area waiting on the first pot of coffee which tasted wonderful. Each table was by a window and the outside feeling was welcomed. The keepers of the Inn were spectacular. They were always around keeping the grounds and very kind but never intrusive. John Marc prepared a hot dish (quiche..etc) each morning for breakfast which was delicious every day. Tons of windows, hardwood floors, small flickering fire in the front and nice music in addition to the wonderful coffee and breakfast created a memorable experience. The rooms were adequate and years ago apartments used to be in this location. So you get the older charm of a bed n breakfast along with the upgrades which were not overdone but appropriate. If your looking for a place unique and relaxing this is it. It was nice they allowed your furry friends as well. We will be staying here again. The photo is the view from the dining area which is at the front of the restaurant. There was also an arbor and a fire pit on the grounds and fires were made and chairs set up for anyone who wanted a relaxing evening by the fire. Loved!

Our visit here was a short one as we were passing through town and only staying for one night but I wished we could have stayed longer. McKinley Inn was a charming property and the Innkeepers are efficient and friendly. They allowed us an early check in after our day of car travel. Our room was comfortable and offers a great private deck with rocking chairs. We also had a small refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker. The décor and atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Our visit was a safe one during these odd covid times. Breakfast was delicious and the amazing dining room is really a special place to gather. The Inn is very close to the charming main street of Bryson City. The Smokey Mountain National Park trails are only a 10 minute drive. This location is a great spot to enjoy many activities including the Scenic Rail Line, fishing, hiking, rafting etc. We will be back to the area and will stay at the McKinley Inn on our next visit !

What a wonderful place to stay in Bryson City. You won’t find a more accommodating, hospitable inn. Janice and John-Marc go out of their way to make your stay feel special with lots of personal touches. Wonderful homemade breakfasts each morning and even a night of s’mores around the fire pit! Fun outdoor games like jumbo Jenga and corn hole and a beautiful mountain view from the deck. Would definitely recommend.

Yes, a light continental, no cooked foods: yogurt, assorted breads (some homemade muffins, bagels, English muffins), cream cheese and jam, fruit, coffee and tea, juice. We only stayed one night (loved it!), but this was what was available that morning. If you prefer a larger breakfast or one with eggs, this will be your "starter breakfast"!
