Circumstances lead me to stay here for one night as a solo traveler. The hotel was very accommodating with all my needs. I had the king size riverview room. Loved it! Room was very clean and spacious. Thoroughly enjoyed stepping outside to sit by the river. I did not have a car but was easily able to walk to town (just be careful as the path is narrow next to the road initially leaving the hotel). I did stay again later in the week and had a smaller non-riverview room. We did not enjoy that room as much as it was very small but it served the purpose for one night.
We arrived for our stay about 20 minutes early. The lady at the office advised us that our room was not ready but would be ready in approximately 15 minutes. She went ahead and gave us our key and checked us in Therefore we left to grab so groceries and returned about 30 minutes later to her still cleaning our room. We sat out on the patio while she finished which wasn't for another 45 minutes. During this time, We observed the employee lose her balance and even fell into the bed. She was very lethargic with slurred speech. Her motions were extremely slow this causing 15 minutes to turn into 1 hour and 30 minutes of us waiting on our room in the July heat. We contemplated leaving however 2 ladies in a room down from ours who had stayed before convinced us this was unusual behavior and that they would contact the owners. I also contacted the owners via email requesting for them to call me because we were concerned about their employee 's health and the safety of others. Only a return email basically stated I was lying about it being 1.5 hours late for us to check in because their records showed I checked in on time. It wasn't until I replied stating the other guests could vouch for our story that they admitted I was telling the truth. The owners then admitted there was medical issues that the employee had to take medication for that would explain her actions but she was not to take them while working. The owners assured me that they would speak to me the next morning in person or would call me. We have still not heard from them. Great room. Very clean. Bad first impression with employee under the influence of heavy medications.…
My daughter and I stayed here the night before taking the train ride in Bryson City. Rooms are large and have a nice view of the river. There are chairs next to the river to relax as well as a barbeque grill. We had two beds in our room and they were very comfortable. Our room had a microwave and a small refrigerator as well as a coffee pot. The room was immaculate and the bathroom was also. Very pleasant stay and I would definitely stay here again. So nice to park your car and have just a short walk to your room! Don't hesitate to book this motel!!
Recently returned from trip to Nantahala Gorge. Added extra nights to our journey and found the Riverbend Lodge. Due to schedule had two accommodations. No problem...about 40 yards apart. First night in the King bed on the river. I mean six steps out the door, with nice table and chairs, on the river. Very nice unit...with a Real key. Super clean and total comfort. Next night in the only cottage. Screened porch, full kitchen and utensils. Pure mountain comfort. Just look at their pictures. Awesome. The best part...CEO's/owners. Amazing attention and great conversations. Also, I need to mention Mr. Eric. On site tech and maintenance. Great smile, great handshake. Bamboo stalks, about 25 feet tall next to cabin. Considered invasive, he cut one down and sawed to length. Now they are based and hold solar lights for our deck. Thank you Mr. Eric. A wonderful visit. Thank you for your hospitality. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. We viewed the rooms before checking in. We had two rooms, the sisters stayed together in a family room. It had a king bed and a queen Murphy bed. I stayed in a king room, all the mattresses were so comfortable, everyone was able to sleep in, which is unusual for the three sisters. We enjoyed a bottle of wine each afternoon on the back patio area overlooking the Tuckaseegee River. The motel is very clean and welcoming.
There was an issue with my reservation where it let me book the cabin even though it was occupied the day of our arrival. The owner called me and explained the problem and offered to put us in the king riverview room until we could move into the cabin. The king riverview room was very clean and roomy with a king size bed, dining table, and two recliners. When we moved into the cabin the next day, I’ll say I was a little disappointed that we left the king size room. My husband called the cabin a tiny home. Although you have your privacy and a compact kitchen (gas stovetop, sink, mini fridge, microwave), it seemed smaller than our previous accommodation. I didn’t think a queen size bed would be bad as that’s what we normally sleep in, but when the bed takes up almost the entire bedroom it easily feels cramped. Both accommodations were clean and I saw no bugs or other issues. Husband fished right off the bank of the river. The driveway is a little steep but I had no issues. Owners are friendly. I would stay here again, but in the king size riverview room!…
The room is clean and well-appointed with a king bed, dining table and 2 recliners. The window is large with a view of the river and outdoor seating. Parking is behind the building and there is a paved driveway. Only one driveway in and out with a steep grade-be very careful when exiting onto the highway. Rags are provided for wiping shoes, equipment, etc. in order to maintain the cleanliness of the room. Owned and operated by nice local people who live on the property.
We rented the cottage that was 2 stories, had two bedrooms, 1 bath and a kitchen. It was perfect for what we needed and was right on the water. The guys fished as soon as we got out of the car! Ingles Grocery was across the street and it's VERY convenient to Bryson City and the Nantahala Gorge. It's locally owned by super nice folks who are there of you need them. It's NOT a 5 star hotel, so if you want all the bells and whistles, go elsewhere, but if you want clean, great location, awesome views with all the amenities you need at a great price, stay here! We will be back!
Got a king room. Very clean. Even though it's right off the road, it was very quiet. Right on the river with chairs and grills. Friendly staff. Fridge and microwave in the room. Five minutes to great restaurants in town.
Mountain Get A Way- If you want to spend a night, not a fortune this is the place for you, We got a King Room , River View. Very Clean and the bed was comfortable- The owners were very nice and made you feel at home. This is an older motel, very well kept, nothing fancy, so if you want the Hilton this is not the motel for you. I would recommend and we will return.
