Our family rented a suite (Movie Gallery) and the Tree House for a week. It was a fantastic way to vacation, especially during Covid. The Tree house has a beautiful covered deck with a table that seats six and an amazing view of the Smoky Mountains. Most nights we ordered food to go from local restaurants. We were close enough to walk to pick it up. We also used the on site grill for burgers one night. It was like home away from home. The facilities are clean and very well maintained. The innkeepers are super nice and very helpful. They went out of their way to make sure we were happy. The Tree House would make a great get away for two couples. For us, it was a place for our adult children to call home, while my wife and I enjoyed the privacy of a separate suite. This was our second stay at the Calhoun House. I hope to have many more.

This was a working trip for me and leisure for my husband. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was the internet issue. I called ahead to be certain I had Verizon cell service and good internet. Its a dish network and so I had problems with it at the end of the trip which could not be resolved quickly. I ended up using my verizon data hot spot which fixed the problem. I realize most folks probably don't care. It's a great place to walk to town from and my husband had a great fly fishing guide that the Ed gave him the recommendation. the kitchen is very well equipped if you want to cook. It has a full sized refrig too. They even brought us ice. The water takes very good out of the tap so no real need for bottled water. the best thing we did was to tube Deep Creek- it was awesome fun for us even as old folks- we didn't go all the way to the top but we did a few runs- no hassle with signing waivers and you get the tubes all day long for $7 each- such great entertainment. I can't say enough for how great the owners are- always attending to your needs. We had a recent stay at Primland in Va at triple the price with not as great service- I guess its the small town atmosphere. As far as Bryson City goes- I could skip that- the food was mediocre at best and the service awful everywhere we went- people were grumpy like they didn't really want to work. I'm not into bar food and that is really all there was except for an Italian place which was "ok" and they were major league grumpy- even fighting amongst the staff. To be fair, the restaurants had just begun to open- on monday and tuesday its slim pickings. We ended up with some carry out BBQ and grilling at the suites. There is a darling gazebo to sit out under- we played board games there at night. If I had it to do over- I would eat in more and go to the grocery rather than try to eat out, and the suite equips you to do so. The bed was very comfortable and the a/c was great! My only criticism of the suite was the sofa and chair in the LR need cleaning. Otherwise- it was great- love the dish soap and d/w packets already in the suite so you don't have to buy any of those items- they even had liquid hand soap in bathroom for us- provided the paper products too. We would definitely go back though I would like the larger end suites next time for such a long stay.

We stayed 3 nites in the Prairie Suite and it was beautiful. All Southwestern decor and special wood furnishings and artwork. Ed and Shirley were wonderful. They checked on us to be sure we had everything (and we did). Our kitchen had coffee, milk, bagels butter and cereal bars and a variety of beverages. We brought some food from home and had a full kitchen to cook in. Unit was immaculate and big king size bed. Air conditioning worked well. Private entrance and rocking chairs outside. Good view of mountains. Went to Deep Creek and saw all 3 waterfalls (a MUST) and went trout fishing 3 Big rainbow guys. Next time I will rent a tube and travel down the creek. Cant wait to go again. Walked into downtown easily.

I came to stay at the calhoun inn and suites with my two eldest daughters ages 5 and 3. The hosts were extremely nice and went out of their way to ensure we had a nice time. This is definitely the place to stay in Bryson City. We will be coming here again! Thanks

What a wonderful place. Just a short walk to the train depot and downtown. The house was so cute and well decorated for the season. Super clean and not lacking anything, hot cocoa, plenty of coffee and breakfast goodies. The Inn keepers are amazing people and really helpful with any questions you may have.
