I stayed in #1, the Victorian...While it was very close to the pond (we do love the pond, as the bullfrogs talk to us all night), and 10 years ago had experienced the same on the other side of the pond in a different yurt. We felt things could have been better. The cleanliness was not up to a par that we expected for the price point. I had to clean out refrigerator space before I could "use" it. It was gross. There were a nest of yellow jackets underneath the yurt that we had to contend with the three days we were there. While the main floor was clean, there was debris all around the refrigerator and shelving to accommodate storage. I like to leave every place I stay better, or at least the same, as I find it. Not so here. It was too much. These yurts really need to be overhauled with cleaning and just "fixing" stuff up, at this point, especially if that deep-clean hasn't been provided since our last stay in 2011. We really enjoyed our trip with the rafting and ziplining, same as 10 years ago. But I have to say, for the price I paid for our lodging, I wish I had just paid for a private cabin. It wouldn't have been that much more than few a $s. The lodging was just not worth the experience to date for me. 10 years ago, there was also a hot tub at the bath house that we were able to enjoy. That was gone also. The price point wasn't. Sharing a bathroom at this price also, is just not worth the cost. I would gladly pay $20 more for a private bathroom and completely private experience per day....just saying...."this" didn't cover it for me any longer, although my experience back in 2011 was mesmerizing....they could fix a few things and it could be magical again...but not now...…
So Yurt number # 5 was a little musty and could use a pressure wash but overall our stay was great. The fire pit and picnic tables were awesome and the bathrooms were super clean. Tim was there every morning and very friendly and helpful. We had some great electronic-free family time and really enjoyed the zip lining and rafting.
We spent the day zip lining and rafting with Wildwater and spent the night “camping” in the yurt village. What a great time. The Yurts are clean and comfortable. The bed and futon provided a great nights sleep. We had Yurts 7 & 8 which are almost tree houses! They have great views and provided a cool breeze at night. The bathhouse is clean with private bathrooms. Each include a toilet, shower and sink. Bring your s’more supplies for a great night camping and outdoor experience.
We stayed in yurt # 8 which has the best view and is very private, in a spectacular mountain setting with sweeping views. The yurt was adorable and inviting, immaculately clean. Wonderful bedding with plentiful pillows and pretty linens. We had a space heater that kept the yurt comfortable on a cold night. The queen bed was very comfy. There was also a nice futon, if you have more than 2 people. Each yurt has its own well spigot for water and ours had a deck with table and chairs. The nearby bathhouses were immaculate as well. (They were about 3-4 min walk away) The yurt walls create such a feeling of privacy but of course they are not sound proof, so in the morning we did hear a bit of singing from a neighboring yurt. The yurts are on the other side of the road from the office and the dirt road to them isn’t marked, so it’s honestly very confusing late at night. Arriving during the day would be ideal. The staff were kind, courteous and knowledgeable. This would be great for a group trip, couples romantic getaway or for a solo traveler. Charming and cozy, these yurts are truly special. Do not miss this spectacular yurt village, it is magical! We cannot wait to return.…
We just got back from our river rafting trip at Nantahala National Park. These yurts were so cool. We will be back again and again. Loved the rustic ambiance. There's a waterfall near. The bath facilities are clean. The yurt itself, was immaculate.
Most people seem to stay in the Yurts but we opted to stay in the property’a “group lodge.” It was excellent for our purpose. I was with my wife and two kids and we were simply looking for a no-frills place to stay for the night. We had considered rent camping but wound up wanting to have a roof and shower for after a long day tubing. This place wound up being perfect for our simple needs. Don’t go expecting fancy room or lots of amenities. Rather, think along the lines more of a summer camp cabin for a fairly low cost. The room is fairly small but consists of bunks one both sides of the walls as well as a toilet, shower, and two sinks. The room is designed to sleep 8. You bring your own sheets and towels. The barn-style building that it is in has 5 similar rooms (one is handicap accessible) as well as a kitchen dining room that can also be reserved. There is a nice fire pit area just outside and the room is walking distance to the property’s ropes courses. So long as your expectations are in line with what this is aiming to provide, you should be satisfied with the stay. …
Really enjoyed our family’s visit here. The surroundings are quiet and beautiful, and it’s a great way to camp/glamp. There are so many nice little touches here and there, like the lights that are motion-activated in the dark. While we stayed, we saw a turkey and a mama duck with her babies. We also heard lots of frogs. There were lots of daddy longlegs spiders and fireflies, too! We appreciated having a mini fridge in the yurt and laundry facilities in the restroom building. This is a wonderful place, but there were some downsides. The yurt and one of the restrooms had a strong mildew odor. All but one of the clasps on the window flaps were broken or unreachable, making it hard to open the windows to relieve the smell and let in fresh air. Our yurt sleeps four, but there was not enough surface area for the things that four people (parents and two kids) bring with them camping. The balcony table had only two chairs, anyway, so I would say this is really better suited for two people. The futon support bar seemed to be broken, leaving a dip in the cushion. The folks were nice, and we recommend this place for a refreshing getaway. …
Nice.. private with a beautiful setting. Showers and bathroom clean with short walk from yurt. needs more signage for ease of access during rainy dark night... close to all activities and Bryson City area.
We stayed for one night on our way back home! What a treat! We were the only two couples in the park and just enjoyed ourselves immensely. Thank you for your little hideaway! I highly recommend. Hopefully we can journey back this way.
I took my Girl Scout troop last week and we stayed in the lodge some of the parents stayed in the yurts. We loved it the places were very clean and the kitchen of the lodge was very well stocked. Reservations and check in and out was very simple. Everyone working was very friendly. Will definitely do it again
