We were given a CD to listen to on our trip up the mountain which was absolutely wonderful. We recommend driving to the top of the mountain and working your way down. We started with the mile-high bridge. Be sure to go to the 2nd floor at the gift shop. There is an incredible photo history of the mountain....well worth...

The beautiful grandfather mountains, the museum, the restaurant were a splendid experience. Amazing drive, great picnic spots, interesting small zoo and the beautiful bridge. The view is picturesque and a great place for amazing clicks

Nice trip through the mountans. Walking over a metal cable bridge and feeling the wind makes you silent. Enjouy also the track af falcons in this area. Larkjng space around the bridge area but if you are able to walk on good shoes then you have to park just before the topandtzke the walk way up.

Definitely worth a visit if in surrounding area - swing bridge and view is spectacular. Along the drive up there are a number of viewing areas as well. Make sure to stop at the visitor center halfway up and decent gift shop, cafeteria and fudge shop.

If you're in the area, be sure to visit Grandfather Mountain. It's very well managed and staffed. The hiking trails are lovely (plenty to choose from), the wildlife tour is awesome (the bears are so cute!), and the mile high bridge is a walk you will remember!

There's no words describing this place. Can't beleive my husband got me to crossthe swinging bridge, but I'm glad he did, it's an amazing experience. From the animals to the views, the drive up there, the informational cd that tells you every single detail. We love Boone.

I called and spoke to a young lady (no name) who set me up in what she termed a wonderful campground the creek. I told her that I had an 11x20' tent, her reply was the sites are big. I then asked her if we could wade in the creek at the camp site, she told me sure so I...
