We loved our visit to the Lovill House Inn! Innkeepers Scott and Anne are very warm, welcoming, gracious hosts. It is evident that they love their job as innkeepers. We stayed for 2 nights in the Bristol Room on the main floor of the house. The room is comfortable, with a king size bed and a wood-burning fireplace. The house is large and beautifully furnished. There are 5 guest rooms to select from, including a separate cottage. The common areas of the house are spacious and comfortable. The living room has a basket of menus from local restaurants, and Scott is helpful with selecting restaurants to meet guest's needs. The dining room has 2 beautifully set tables for breakfast. The kitchen has a separate refrigerator for guest's use. Anne's buffet breakfasts are delicious, made with fresh ingredients, and Scott and Anne are fastidious about planning for the dietary needs/restrictions of their guests. The porches of the house are for relaxing, with rocking chairs and tables. Part of the charm of the inn is its long history, as well as the beautiful, original, high-end flooring and woodworking. The grounds of 11 acres have amazing gardens, a stream and waterfall, all of which are maintained by the innkeepers and their staff. The inn is private, yet conveniently located near the town of Boone, Appalachian State University, and the lovely Blue Ridge Parkway. Scott and Anne are attentive to their guests, and Scott is particularly helpful and knowledgeable about the history of the inn, as well as attractions and restaurants in the area.

Lovill House Inn is an absolute gem of a B&B. The location couldn’t be more convenient. It is within easy striking distance of downtown Boone and Appalachian State University, yet manages to be tucked away in an idyllic, quiet setting that includes lovely landscaping, a running stream, and a beautiful waterfall. The guest rooms are comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully furnished. The common areas invite relaxation on the comfortable living room sofas, or better yet on the many rocking chairs that line the spacious wrap-around porch. Games, books, magazines, and an extensive DVD library are available for those who want to be more engaged. Innkeepers Anne and Scott are the true treasures of Lovill House Inn. Scott provides the perfect level of attentiveness. He is extremely knowledgeable about the Inn’s fascinating history and the many area attractions available to visitors. Anne is a gracious presence in the house. Her breakfasts are a delight with many delicious options that are sure to please. Heidi, the resident dog, keeps everything running smoothly. Lovill House Inn is a perfect base for exploring the beautiful High Country whether your goal is to hit all the action, or simply relax in the restorative mountain air. I will definitely be back.

We stayed one night in the cottage. The cottage was amazing! Private, clean, comfortable and right next to the main house. The only item they might add would be one of those small refrigerators even though we did not miss it due to having kitchen access at the house. Scott and Ann are really nice and know the full meaning of customer service. Breakfast was fantastic with a focus on fresh and there was something for all tastes. Made our celebration perfect.

Great B&B! Clean, comfortable and welcoming environment. Breakfast nicely done. Lots of fresh fruits, nice egg dish and hot French Toast for morning energy. Hosts were very helpful and made us feel welcome from the first hello. The grounds are well kept and great for relaxing after a days activities.

My wife and I have been fortunate enough to stay in many different bed and breakfast inns over the years. The Lovell House is far superior to any of the rest. The House is a beautifully renovated home with more charm than our words can describe. Each bedroom, we took a look at all of them since we were the only guests, is large and nicely furnished. The grounds are extensive, well landscaped and include a water fall at the back of the property. Best of all are the innkeepers, Scott and Anne. We left for home feeling like we were leaving old friends. When looking for accommodations in the Boone area, treat yourself and stay at the Lovell House. We have already booked a trip for the fall. We are blessed to be innkeepers and to have the privilege of meeting many wonderful and interesting people who come and visit. Many of these become good friends and return many times. We count you both among some of our special new friends. Thank you for your kind words and for taking time to share your experience with others. Looking forward to seeing you on your next visit in October! Things will look quite different in the gardens by then!
