We took a spontaneous trip to boone and found this campground online, i read the reviews and was a little nervous but to my great suprise this place is the best campground i have ever stayed at. We made this trip without my husband, a nice youngman helped me get my rv backed in and the next day another staff... More

Excellent place friendly, family run. Upon entering they were very helpful. They delivered wood to us. We have a great spot with no one to the right of us. We did rent a car so we wouldn't have to drive our hotel all over. I do agree with the comments about the bathroom. The water is hot once you find... More

Finally we found a family campground that is actually in the woods... we have visited campground all over the east coast in our RV and this place is beautiful... unlike any campground i have ever stayed at. the staff helped me back in when i got there, delivered firewood to me, i felt like i was staying at a resort... This is a family run campground that's clean and well maintained but we have had the worst luck with appropriate spots. Booked a site after the 4th of July and after the crowd cleared from the holiday weekend 80% of the campground was empty. We understood that they were booked full the first night we were there and accepted our... More

Location, location, location. We visited Honey Bear campground recently and had a very enjoyable experience. My young kids loved it. It's only about 10 minutes from downtown Boone so you can easily pop down to the restaurants or shops then head back up. Very convenient. We booked a primitive tent site which had a fire ring and picnic table. The... More

We made our reservations over the phone for 4 nights. When we arrived at the campground at 3:00pm on a Friday, there was a map on the door with our name and the camp site circled. We never saw anyone that worked at the campground our entire stay. The bath houses were cold and dated! The toilet rooms were very... More

This campground is pretty dated, and the bath facilities are in need of updating. They also need to add more lighting, particularly outside the bath house where there is not enough lighting for safety purposes. For what I needed for this one night, it was fine. I probably would look for another place to camp if I were in the... More

I do not understand the negative reviews I just read. If you are wanting a jam packed, completely flat, lack of scenery type place, I suggest going to a KOA. This was gorgeous scenery, on a mountain, mature trees, fun for the kids. It couldn't have gotten better for us. We actually felt like we had a good distance from... More

We had a great time at HoneyBear, and found it's location to be perfect. It's close to town, but still secluded at the same time. The raod getting to the campground might be of concern for some, but I saw 5th wheels and a couple of Class A's there, so it isn't impossible! The staff was very friendly, the coffee... More

By far this is my family's favorite campground. Honey Bear offers what so many other campgrounds do not - a place for kids to really be kids - whether that is playing in the creek, fishing in the pond, swinging on the awesome double swing or exploring all that nature has to offer. My girls can't wait to get out... More
