Expensive but worth it! NOT a cookie cutter resort. Small and quaint facility used to be a private home in the early 1900's and has been converted to an Inn with no expense spared. Views when weather is good are excellent from the "Sunrise Cottage", which is the most popular of their rooms. Very quiet and relaxing.

Very attentive staff and beautiful location. Quiet and historic. My only negative was the shower tile and grout could have been cleaner and there really was no TV in the French room so don't assume that all rooms have a TV like I did.

We stayed at Gideon Ridge for one night while touring on the Blue Ridge Parkway in mid August. Though we could tell that the views from the property must be spectacular it was very cloudy and rainy while we were there. Unfortunately I think that is not uncommon in this area. The Inn was lovely and had a beautiful veranda...

Recently, my husband and I had our first stay at Gideon Ridge. Despite the rain and clouds that blocked the view of the mountains the entire weekend we were there, we had a fabulous time. We enjoyed tea on the veranda and in the library, the wonderful breakfasts that come with the price of the room (fabulous biscuits!), and chose...

This is about our 10th visit to the Gideon Ridge Inn. The relaxing air on the porch has to be experienced to be appreciated. The world just fades away. The breakfasts are outstanding. We stayed in the French Room and were pleased as always. Advise you dine at Restaurant G as well for an added treat.

My wife and I stayed here last year and had an excellent time. We stayed in the Sunrise Room. The view is breathtaking, the bed was large and comfortable, and the bathroom was really nice. This hotel is right up against the beauiful blue ridge mountains. I recommend going in fall with the leaves turning. The view really is hard...

We chose Gideon Ridge Inn for our 48th anniversary and were not disappointed. A great old inn that has been updated and very beautiful. Very good dinning with a good wine list. Quiet and peaceful with helpful staff.

I was in Blowing Rock, North Carolina for a wedding and stayed at the Gideon Ridge Inn. I had stayed here 25 years ago and knew that it was a B&B on a lovely piece of property. The staff could not have been any more accommodating. I stayed in the Blue Room which was very large and had a wonderful,...

This was the poorest experience we have had of many stays. We stayed in the Blue room. We could not get the shower to work and ended up trying to take a bath--Not my first choice. Turns out that the shower does work but we did not receive instruction in the unusual way you have to turn the control. We...

This is an intimate experience with great food, wine, and staff. Beautiful setting. Menu is somewhat limited, but the food is exciting and excellently prepared from appetizers to desserts. Definitely need reservations, and in season, reservations need to be well in advance. My favorite place in the entire Blowing Rock area. My experience is only with the restaurant, but the...
