We stayed over a weekend. The inns charming but has some problems. The room, Tarheel Suite, looks like it was recently redone. There was a LOT of dust in the room, especially on the ironing board. There should have been bottled water available at a price of $239 a night. The breakfast was very generic. The pancakes, waffles and eggs... More

I visited Blowing Rock with my girlfriend for a short getaway. We arrived late and could not find an open hotel room in the surrounding area. There was apparently a big event going on that left many of the hotels completely full! We were desperate and did not want to pay too much for a hotel, so I decided to... More

The Inn was in a perfect location, just a leisurely stroll to a host of great shops and restaurants. Comfortable amenities with a quaint feel. Hospitable service. We loved sitting out front, rocking in the chairs on the cool evenings sharing community with our neighbors. Complimentary glass of wine at happy hour was a nice welcome. Included hot breakfast with... More

As a child in the seventies there were hotel and motels along the highway run by families that took pride in their business, were a rocking chair with as the place to waste your day away, and time stood still. I love the mountains of NC, the cool air, slow pace, honest people, and scenic natural beauty takes me home... More

This was our 4th stay. Hill winds is pet friendly and that was main reason for choosing the Inn. We discovered that should not be the reason for staying there. The charm of the main lodge is a huge plus. They serve a full breakfast in a delightful dining room. There is a happy hour with nice wine and snacks.... More

We just loved it here. There were 3 of us couples riding motorcycles and we had decided on Blowing Rock as a stopping place for the night. We had called another place that had been recommended to us by friends, however they were booked & they suggested the Hillwinds Inn--lucky us! We were immediately happy when we saw that there... I stayed here the night I arrived and since they were sold out the next night I stayed at the Village Inn. Hillwinds Inn is a perfect place to stay while in Blowing Rock. I was able to get my work done with a strong free wifi signal and though I did not have time to enjoy there wine and... More

Let me start off by saying that all the Village Inns of Blowing Rock are under new management. The new GM, Scott Wiggins, has taken control and the changes are happening fast. If you've ever stayed in one of their Inns and weren't happy with the experience, don't be afraid to try again. We came up for graduation weekend and... More
