This is a 5 star inn, not a 5 star hotel. It has all the things you would expect from a nice mountain inn PLUS it is within walking distance of literally everything. The only thing we drive to were a few hiking places that were a bit farther out. You can get to coffee, grocery store, restaurants and shopping. There is even a wonderful public park maybe a block away. We didn’t have a hair dryer so if that is important to you, bring your own. Each room is AIR CONDITIONED!!!!! We loved having a mini fridge and two comfortable beds. Our welcome packet was great as we had never been to Blowing Rock. They included a map, local Information and even coupons to some nearby shops. Each room a the motel had an outdoor seating area and there was a communal gazebo. 10/10 would stay at The Hemlock Inn again.…
Charming Inn in ideal location in Blowing Rock. Was very pleased with cleanliness and no-contact check-in and check-out. As all rooms face the courtyard no need to be inside a hotel lobby or elevator with anyone else. Social distancing at its best. Also, very comfortable bed. Will definitely stay here again.
We found Hemlock Inn through internet search and am so glad we did. Staff great to work with as I had special requests for grandparent accommodations. We met staff upon arrival and it felt like visiting friends. Rooms were immaculate and well stocked. Comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed the gazebo after dinner to gather to chat with family and meet other visitors. Checkin/out so easy. Great location to walk around Blowing Rock and easy access to go into Boone and access the Blue Ridge Parkway. We cannot wait to come back and will be recommending to friends.
Enjoyed our stay, extremely clean, convenient location within short walking distance of shops, park and restaurants. Used Tesla charger on site during stay. Look forward to staying again in the future!
We decided to give Hemlock Inn a try based on its location and reviews. It is located right in the middle of Historic Blowing Rock, about a block off Main Street where all the shopping is located. We got a call from the Inn on the morning of our arrival asking when we would check in. We were told the key would be in the door, which was fine with us because we have been to this area before and know that all these historic inns have the office situated so that the staff can see all the rooms. We noticed that anytime a car entered the parking area, one of the staff was there to ask if they were checking in and what room. Once you got into your room, there was a tag for your vehicle. The entire property, inside and out, was clean and very nice. The room was clean and the bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever had in a hotel/inn/B&B. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only reason I'm giving this a 4 instead of a 5 is the bathroom in our room (#9) was very small and had no vanity or cabinet under or around the sink, thus no place to put hair and makeup items. Otherwise there were no complaints. Our room was a corner room, so maybe other rooms have a bit more area in the bathroom. However the room in general was very nice with a table and 3 chairs, a sofa and a desk. I recommend this inn and would stay again, but maybe check for a room with a bit larger bathroom.…
The room was very tidy and clean. The outside was a mess. It totally needed an up date. The other strange thing was how they handled check in. They said it was contactless check in ,so they left a key in the door of the room you were staying in. I thought that was absurd in this day and age!
Very Very friendly. The owners and staff made us feel like family. The room was very clean and accommodating and within walking distance to all of downtown. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.
Older motor court that has been maintained. Friendly family run, right downtown Blowing Rock, so very convenient. Could not have asked for a more welcoming and attentive family. Traveled midsummer 2021. Just a wee bit musty, but the country was just emerging from lockdowns, so our whole trip mirrored folks just getting going again. Restaurants, shops closed, most due to lack of employees, some forever, I suppose. BobbalooH
Room was small but very cozy. Great for a winter mountain getaway. Staff was very nice and courteous. Great location, close to everything in Blowing Rock makes for a great date walk out on the town. Very home feeling. Parking can be limited.
Lovely small inn with good attention to details like nice towels and good lighting. It was very clean and had wine glasses and ceramic cups which came in handy bc it was cold and we enjoyed our beverages. It snowed making a winter wonderland with lots of lights in the trees. Nice and friendly management as well.
