I have camped at Julian Price Park for over 10 years. I use to tell family and friends how nice the facilities and Rangers were. They use to hold programs about nature and would come by and ask if we needed anything. Sadly, that is not the case anymore. It's more like the Wild West. You now check yourself in... More

I just needed a cheap place to sleep before going water tubing the next day and the back of my Jeep in this campground was as comfortable as could be. Just don't leave food outside for the Bears. Paying was straightforward at the ranger station. There were plenty of spots on the Wednesday I was there, but was told reservations... More

Clean and we'll kept. Variety of sites for tents and RVs. Some loops right on the lake. Ten minutes from Grandfather Mountain, 30 min to Boone. Leaves were gorgeous. We did not have any hook ups. Dump station and water easy in/out.

Our first camping adventure in the U.S. having lived here for 7 years we finally plucked up the courage and had two nights at Julian Price. It was great, no showers, lots of rain, fantastic hiking from the site and just being outdoors. Limited space to 'play' with balls, frisbee etc, but we still managed to have loads of fun.... More

Having primitive camped with no amenities for miles, this was a pretty nice campground. Loop A was crowded but a couple spots were available lake shore, I would've had to share a driveway with the next campsite. I chose to camp across the campground road in a more private site. I chose this site to keep from disturbing my neighbors.... More

Camping in the High Country! I love it! but this campground, like most federal campgrounds along the BRParkway, suffers from severe neglect. Erosion is rampant, and most tent pads flood when it rains since they are not elevated anymore. Our picnic table was covered with moss and had a chunk of concrete out, and our firepit was literally FULL of... More

We had a great campsite on Loop A (lakeside). Wonderful views. Beautiful wooded lot, spacious, with good size tent pad and a concrete picnic table. The hike round the lake is very pretty and worth taking the time out to do. Views from the bridge at sunset are fabulous. Canoe and kayak rentals were a little pricey. The campsite is... More

To be fair, I am not an experienced camper, so I don't have much to compare this to. It was a nice enough place and we had a good time, but I guess I was expecting more privacy than what we had. The campsites (we were on B loop) were quite close together and right off a road. Each site... More

This campground was beyond my expectations. Each campsite that you rent is spacious, creating your own little world. The people surrounding us were friendly and it made it a very positive experience. There are pink crowned azaleas lacing the entire campgrounds and trails. There were white tailed deer and fireflies everywhere. The stars at night above the lake were unbelievable.... More

This campground is in MAJOR need of repair. Camped in the A loop (lakeside) rubbing elbows with the neighbors, we had one of the less private sites. There is one restroom on that side which was down to one toilet and two sinks that functioned. Half of the site's picnic table was broken off and the tent pads were in... More
