I had the absolute pleasure of staying in Mountain Stream Lodge at Lake Eden Retreat during the LEAF festival. The facility is absolutely delightful in every way. Spacious common areas are furnished with style and comfort in mind. The Lodge blends history, culture, and modern amenities seamlessly. The Black Mountain College history is tastefully referenced with curated selection of photos and documents. The large windows in the solarium look out over the immaculate and stunning Retreat facility and also provide a view of Mount Mitchell. Every need is provided for including a large well equipped kitchen, and a large family style dining/gathering area in the open concept kitchen. The porch overlooking the namesake stream is an awe inspiring outdoor space with ample space for a large group while feeling cozy and private. I couldn't love this place any more and highly recommend it for any group gathering or retreat you might have. The owners are extremely knowledgeable and helpful with regard to hosting all sizes and types of diverse groups.

Mountain Stream is a delightful retreat with every amenity we could possibly need. The large covered porch was perfect for enjoying the springtime mountain air. The sound of the namesake stream provides a soothing song while enjoying the porch surrounded by rhododendrons. The lodging is immaculate with sparkling wood floors, beautiful and comfortable furnishings, and art work that mixes modern Bohemia with historic documentation of the fascinating history of the Retreat. The game room was a huge hit with our family and friends. The solarium looks out over the lush Retreat property and even has views of Mount Mitchell. The Retreat is the perfect spot to recharge and unwind and be inspired. Highly recommend.

We rented out the entire place and held a wedding here for our son and now daughter in law. Lodging was excellent and the barn experience was perfect. We took full advantage of the location bringing in people from all over the country and everyone was extremely positive about the whole 3 day weekend. We could not have picked a more perfect location to celebrate.

I recently stayed at Lake Eden Retreat in Black Mountain for a wedding and was pleasantly surprised. The venue is a beautiful, secluded spot nestled in the mountains. The accommodations were comfortable and clean, with a rustic charm that fit the setting.

Jennifer, the owner, was incredibly helpful and accommodating. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed! Her knowledge of the area was invaluable, and she provided great recommendations for local activities

It's a perfect choice for anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway in the mountains. I highly recommend visiting - 5 stars!!!

We had the pleasure of staying 5 nights in the Tree Tops at Lake Eden, and we could not be more happy, they are wonderful hosts! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The grounds are beautiful and you can take a walk around the lake without any disturbances, just enjoying the beautiful nature. There are also plenty of hiking trails to enjoy. The terrace on the front is pretty large, with a grill and a lot of seating. We can't wait to come back!

What a beautifully appointed home away from home. You feel embraced as soon as you walk in the door of Sequoia- as each piece of art, cushion, and sculpture was hand picked by Ms. Pickering from some distant location around the world. The location is lovely too, with a creek just off the large back deck and access to the the beautiful Lake Eden grounds in Black Mountain. My beloved and I were married on the property 30 years ago and we were so blessed to be able to return to the same site to do a rededication ceremony. Lee and Jennifer could not have been more accomodating hosts. Hiking, biking, kayaking all super easy to do from here, if you can bear to tear yourself away from the property.

Probably the most gorgeous lodging at the foot of Pisgah National Forest. Albers Cottage is just one of the options on the site of the original location of Black Mountain College. A well-appointed house with a fascinating history. Peaceful and serene comfort in the mountains. An excellent place for a comfortable base while you explore Black Mountain, Swannanoa, and Asheville areas.

We stayed 4 nights at a house on the property called Sequoia, I wish it could have been 40 nights! The house was AWESOME. A perfect mix of mountain rustic and modern. Super Clean, well equipped, did I mention the massage bed?! There may be other places to stay around Black Mountain but I can't imagine why you would stay anywhere else. We certainly won't
