    Great Stay
The Villa was a stopping point for the family during a drive back from the beach. Granted, the location is a bit out of the way from the main highways, but it ended up being worth it in the end. We couldn't believe we had this whole house to ourselves. The kids enjoyed watching cartoons in the media room's large projection TV. The house was beautifully appointed. The beds were very comfortable. While we were there, we enjoyed a cook out on the grill, a canoe ride on the lake, and at night, a campfire on the patio. Very relaxing place to say and highly recommended.

    Nice alternative to a hotel
We've rented numerous private homes, so have a good base from which to compare. We would stay here again; however, I'm not raving about the Villa as other guests have done. Pros: Availability of 1-night stay; Comfortable bed and home; Easy check-in/out Cons: Overpriced for a 2-bedroom home with space for four guests; Location is very odd--gravel road under power lines through an overgrown field, within earshot of a train; Kitchen needs a few items (cutting board, matching plates); Website descriptions a bit vague The information ahead of arrival, and on the website, could have been a bit more clear. My questions were quickly answered when I asked, but other homes we've rented were described in far better detail, so we know exactly what we are getting. I suggest the website be updated to clarify that the rental price is for the entire home (use of the phrase "common areas" caused me to wonder if other guests were there, sharing that space). I also would suggest letting guests know, with their confirmation, that they will be given an entry code the day of arrival, and that the final balance is automatically charged to the credit card. I was unsure of how this process would work, since the website mentioned "check in" times and the need to call if arriving after 6pm. Finally, providing guests with a sheet on site, clearly indicating what is expected at departure, would be helpful. I knew I had to empty the garbage, but we had to go searching for it outside, and found it way in the backyard at the edge of the property line. There was old coffee left in the coffee pot and dirty dishes left in the dishwasher from a previous guest. Melanie was gracious and thanked me for letting her know, but for $260/night, I've never run into that kind of oversight. (This is why I gave a "3" rating for cleanliness; otherwise I'd rate it a "4-5".) The Villa served our purposes well. We needed a comfortable place to sleep for one night, visit with an old friend, and cook.

    Family visit
Beautiful home with luxury master bedroom and bath and very nice second bedroom and bath. Larger media room, fantastic kitchen, fireplace, grounds abut on lake Wylie, canoe come with property. We visited with son, daughter-in-law and two young grandchildren the accommodations met our needs perfectly. Very thoughtful management. we would definitely visit again.

Villa at Waters Edge is a good value for what it is, but don't expect the luxury throughout that the photos might imply. First the positives: 1. Full use of the main floor: master suite, guest bedroom, entertainment room, kitchen/dining/living area and 2 full baths with rain showers. 2. A/C and heat worked well and shower pressure and hot water were good. the gas fireplace that opens to both the master bedroom and the great room is a nice touch 3. Pleasant property on an inlet off Lake Wylie 4. Very comfortable bedding - lots of pillows, high thread count sheets, etc. 5. Great bath accessories - towels were fluffy and plentiful, shampoo and soap were of high quality, plenty of paper products Not quite up to snuff: 1. While definitely reflecting an interior designer's good tastes, the furnishings were a bit tired and in some cases falling apart. 2. The kitchen appliances were dated at best and far below the standards of the rest of the property. Utensils served their purpose, but were mostly a hodgepodge. there is no garbage disposal... 3. While the lighting truly enhances the property, there were so many burnt out bulbs (one or two for every section of the villa) that I wondered if the the owner had ever been there. 4. If you are looking for a lake "view" this is not the place, though the property overlooks an inlet and has a small and private yard. As I said though, it IS a good value. After all, you get complete use of a home that has some very high points and it is just 20 minutes from the airport. If you are expecting perfection however, it falls short.

Only stayed one night but could have easily stayed a week. We were looking for something that was secluded and private and the Villa at Waters Edge delivered. We loved the location and the home is very nicely decorated. The "Cinema" room is a bit warn, but seems like a good place for a family to enjoy a movie. Overall, The Villa at Waters Edge is a great getaway place and we would not hesitate to go back.

The home was amazing! I surprised my husband with a night here for his birthday. We really enjoyed our time, but we didn't even touch half of the home! One night was not enough. Pros: Easy reservation & check in We really loved the main bedroom, the bed was amazingly soft The shower was super cool The space was beautiful, open and uncluttered Cons: We didn't like the fact we couldn't close the drapes, kinda freaked me out when I got up in the middle of the night (I probably watch too much tv) The shower was cold! I suggest running the water with the door closed and letting the bathroom heat up because there's no curtain or door Would love to share this space with other couples but there's only 2 bedrooms At the end of the day, I really have no major complaints and cannot wait to make an excuse to stay here again! P.S. take the trash out, it's out back (I only know this because I read on here to do so)

We have stayed in many resorts, villas etc. and this was the nicest. The decor was simply beautiful. Every special touch that one could think of was avalable. Just pack your bag and check-in. The owner, Melanie was so gracious and made sure we arrived safely and ensured that our kids had the much needed wifi access. It was like we were in our own private luxury world. 2 spacious bedrooms, I slept like I was at home! 2 luxurious bathrooms...the master shower was made in heaven! The see-through fireplace in the great room was a true hit with the January weather. The kids loved the theater room and the lake. Everything was so peaceful, this is an awesome place to relax with spouse, family or girlfriends. Reservations and check-in was a breeze. Excellent price! I will be back again & again!

Melanie is A TRUE Diamond in the Rough.. The Home IS FREAKIN AWESOME!!! I moved my daughter back to NC from OH and did not want to crowd her new place. To arrive at such a Beautiful Haven...well let's just say, I was at A lost for words..The pictures on the website were nice and inviting BUT the surroundings make the Villa just Stand Out. My mother, aunties and friends so enjoyed every part of the VILLA. This will be a Sweet Spot that is on our list for return travels. Luxury 4 Life.
