My wife and I went up on a Fri. Because of a few bad reviews I wanted to see the room before plunking down a lot of money. I checked their on their website before we left home and the Presidential room was available. When we got there we were told no rooms were available. With tears in our eyes... More

Very enjoyable stay with family. The rooms had plenty of space. It was nice to sit on the porch with a glass of wine, good views and the companionship of family. The weather was great, which was good because they don't have a/c. It was not needed. Our breakfast was nothing fancy but it was good. Kitchen service was a... More

It was a small hotel, not many rooms. The rooms were a little dated but clean and inviting. The fireplace was great!. They only provided only a little wood so be prepared to buy your own. The views were beautiful. We stayed here on a groupon deal.

This is a charming place with a spectacular view. We kept our huge field stone fireplace burning most of our stay (firewood is available at the nearby Food Lion). At the time we stayed, we were the only guests, so we enjoyed unusual quiet and privacy. The room was large and comfortable.

This place is small and rustic, but that added to the experience. The staff was friendly. We stayed in the hawks lodge building. The views were amazing. They were renovating the restaurant, so it wasn't open. The area is amazing.

We stayed in a Hawk's view King room (Beech room) for two nights, the room has a log cabin style very rustic, simple and clean, it has a real fire place (bring your own wood) which was the main reason that we decided to stay at this place, the room was equipped with 24" old style TV, fridge, microwave, 4... I stayed at Archer's for a ski race weekend at Beech Mtn this winter. The place is quaint, scenic, and old. The room had a nice fireplace, and a little bit of wood (bring your own). And that was a good thing, because the room was freezing. I was told to leave the hot water dripping so it wouldn't freeze.... More

I have thought long and hard about this review and have decided the best way to write it is to go in detail about the pros and cons. However, the overall review, is that Archer's Mountain Inn has a lot of great potential, but it was poorly executed. It needs some TLC, more knowledgable and caring staff, more clearly defined... The place needs some serious refurbishing. We enjoyed it just because we had never been in that area but would not go again until it was a little updated. The lighting was so poor, we couldn't read our books. Also, no refrigerator, so no cold drinks or water in the eating area. The floor was so cold in the bathroom... More
