We previously visited here in 2021 on our winter snow vacation and promised to return. And we did. This quaint B&B has probably the best lodging location in Banner Elk. Many fine dining and casual dining restaurants within a five minute walk. Snow activities at Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain, and Hawksnest are minutes away too. Local breweries and the Banner Elk Winery are close too.

As we reported in our previous review, Mike & Robin are exceptional hosts, ensuring our stay was warm and comfortable. Their friendliness exudes in everything they do. They make you feel less like guests and more like visiting family.

We stayed in "Betsy" the larger of the upstairs rooms. It was ideal for our weeklong stay. But those with shorter stays would be well served by any of the other rooms. The room itself was warm and quiet. Bathroom water pressure was strong and hot.

Weekday breakfast is provided by Dunn's Deli at the foot of The Perry House hill. The crew there is great and the breakfasts even better. On weekends, Robin prepares family style breakfast for guests in the house dining room.

Hot coffee, tea, and assorted other winter drinks are available in the dining room throughout the day and the cozy living room is a nice place to sit in front of the gas fireplace and kick up your feet.

All in all, it was another delightful stay in a very nice property. And lastly, special thanks for Mike & Robin for making sure we had snowfall during our stay!

This B&B is owned by a former work colleague and her husband (Robin and Mike Dunn). The B&B is a turn of the century building that has been remodeled. There are five rooms, 4 upstairs and 1 downstairs. Each room has its own décor. We stayed in the downstairs room, called the Jennifer Room. Robin and Mike are gracious hosts and having lived there for over 20 years they tell you all the exciting things to see. Mike fixes a delicious breakfast. The B&B sits up on a hill overlooking the town and it is easy walking distance to several restaurants. The trees were ablaze with color during this early fall trip.

My husband stayed at The Perry House to attend our nephew's wedding. The house is charming, with great views and a wrap around porch. The location is perfect, you can park your car at the B & B and find whatever you need in the quaint town of Banner Elk. Robin and Mike are delightful hosts and very talented in the kitchen! I have Celiac, and they whipped up delicious breakfasts each day to accommodate me. The rooms are lovely. Robin & Mike are also a wealth of information, great for recommendations on where to eat and shop and giving directions. It was an excellent choice, and I would happily return.

Wonderful owners. These folks were friendly, accommodating and the bed-and-breakfast was well worth the money spent. They even worked within my budget! The breakfast was amazing both mornings! Love the area and ambience. Will definitely be back :-)

My husband and I booked this location since we only wanted one night and other hotels in area required two. Lucky us! What a great find. The home is beautiful. Robin was very nice and welcoming. We stayed in The Betsy room. Spacious and comfy. Very good location if you want to walk to dinner. We were leaving early on check out day and told Robin we didn’t need breakfast so she offered us a roadie breakfast to go that we grabbed from refrigerator on our way out and enjoyed during our ride home. Nice touch! We will keep this place as first choice if back in the area.

The Perry House is located in the heart of the High Country. This makes it the perfect YEAR ROUND destination. The hosts Mike and Robin make you feel like a part of the family. It's my home away from home. The breakfast is the best and gets you fueled up for all the skiing, hiking, shopping and sight seeing the area offers

Robin and Mike are such gracious hosts, who made us feel very welcome and comfortable in their home. The view from the porch and our window, overlooking the town and the mountains was just lovely. We had great conversations with them and their guests over delicious breakfasts, and while we went to ski, we enjoyed just hanging out exploring the town and surrounding area!

The hosts made you feel like family. I was there to go to a wedding. They were very helpful in directions and what to expect when traveling to my destination. The food was great and the hosts not just accommodating but made you feel you were staying with family. I would definitely stay at the Perry House if I were in Banner Elk again.

Coming from the tropics, I was worried I would freeze to death given the area and recent snowfall. Fortunately, the inn is well insulated and counts on a robust heating system that wiped my troubles away.
Robin and Mike were wonderful and the breakfast was exquisite. The inn is well stocked for any needs one might have.
I purchased the birthday package and was not let down. The cake was delicious from a local bakery and the wine was expertly selected, given our tastes.

Hosts were friendly and the room was relatively clean but in serious need of furniture replacement. Some pieces bordered on dilapidated. The towels were faded and ripped. The deli to which we were directed for breakfast one morning was an utter pig sty. We have no idea how it passes any health inspection. Nice view from the rocking chairs on the deck but we were surrounded by peeling paint and broken flower pots. The window air conditioner was adequate supplemented by a floor fan. Convenient location to Grandfather Mountain and Sugar Mountain skiing but certainly not high end accommodations. The kitchen at the B&B was a mess. $145/night seems high for the old, dreary room.
