Great vibe, meticulously kept grounds and accomodations, but not fussy or uptight. Terrific staff: helpful, friendly. And yes it is a short stroll to several good eateries. Perfect place to relax.....turn off the phone.

Hotel's Favorite
We had initially planned on a 2 night stay, which we ended up extending to 5 nights since it was SO beautiful! Although we initially booked a different room, Karen recommended a more appropriate room (Room 18) that was perfect for our family of 4.Two separate clean rooms separated by a short corridor, with a well furnished kitchen, and a clean bathroom with a stand-alone bath tub. The bigger room had a king bed and a faux fireplace, and the other had two twin beds. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils required for our short stay, a microwave,a large fridge+freezer, and a conventional oven. Both rooms had TV,which afforded us a few extra mins of sleep in the morning as our kid enjoyed screen time in their room. Our family spent many hours enjoying the stream which runs right in front of the property, and the hammocks beside the stream. My partner and I spent evening hours on the hammocks admiring the clear skies and constellations, and debating the whole meaning of existence. There was a heated open space on the front lawn. The whole family had fun exploring the quaint little town, and talking with the very friendly and quite artistic people. Activities-wise, we enjoyed exploring short trails at the Kenneth L. Wilson Campgrounds and the Ashokan Reservoir. The 12 miles of the Asokan reservoir trail seemed a great place to bike. Restaurants abound, some with dine-in (Yum Yum Noodles, Garden Cafe). We found some authentic Indian food nearby ( Namaste Indian Restaurant) , and some authentic Sushi with dine-in (Tumo) within a 20 min drive. There was an interesting bookstore, a well-stocked, great-smelling pharmacy and ( most importantly) ice cream stores within walking distance. Overall, the inn made for a great stay and was a wonderful break from the anxieties of the pandemic. If you're looking to kick back, relax and breathe some fresh air (through your masks when in company), this is the place! If you're looking for peace and quiet, no-frills-attached, look no further.

This is my third time staying here. If you’re looking for a nice, quiet place to relax, this is it. The grounds are beautiful — bring a chair and a drink and your bath suit for a soak in the stream or just flop in a chair with a book and enjoy the solitude. It’s close to town — haven’t had to move my car since I got here but yes, be prepared because the road is curvy and narrow. The rooms are indeed small but they’re perfect for one person. The vibe is just chill. See you again next year, Woodstock Inn!

The grounds are clean and absolutely beautiful. Just walking on the property will give you a sense of calm and tranquility. The Inn Keeper is very nice. The shower has great water pressure. There is plenty of parking and chairs to sit outside and take in the scenery. The stream is beautiful and I could sit there all day just listening to the water running. The cons: The room is tiny and smelled. Not sure if the smell is from humidity or cleaning supplies but it definitely has an unpleasant odor. If you are claustrophobic these rooms are not for you. The bathroom is tiny. Another positive…. The Inn is in a great location. Only a 7 min walk into town.

Thank you for appreciating all the amenities - and the tranquility of our property. In the future, if there's ever an issue with a room please contact the innkeeper immediately. Our guests' comfort and safety is our top priority and we certainly address concerns whenever we are notified. We hope you'll come back and give us another chance. The deluxe rooms seem like a better fit for your getaway needs, although everyone's idea of the best travel options are different, so feel free to contact the inn for a personalized room recommendation. Thanks again for writing your review.

We enjoyed our stay at this sweet spot on a scenic stream in Woodstock. We were anticipating a “short stroll” into town as described online, but found it to be a bit of a hike on a inclined narrow road with no shoulder or walkway. The hotel grounds are lovely and the room was comfortable and very clean. We booked a deluxe room with a “bubbler” tub but the tub was not functional. When the innkeeper was asked the response was that it was now a soaking tub and that they would change the listing ( but it remains) Breakfast was a wonderful surprise with a great selection though the notice in our room said breakfast was not available ( it was.)The contradictions were a bit off putting.

Thanks for your review and glad you enjoyed your stay, although as you mention things were not as clear as they could have been. In regards to breakfast, we were thrilled to offer it sooner than expected and felt it was better to provide the service rather than wait until we could get in and change all notices. Most guests were pleasantly surprised and we have since updated our information. The tub information has also been changed to reflect the current status. We do try and keep guests appraised of the Inn's updates as no-one like surprises when they arrive for a getaway. The short walk into town is along a country road. While obviously not for everyone, other people enjoy the stroll and are glad to leave their cars behind while they explore the shops and galleries in our quaint village. Again, thanks for noticing our scenic location.

This is our fourth year to the Woodstock Inn on the Millstream and each year we love more and more. The rooms are breathtaking and listening to the stream at night will add so much to your stay. The grounds, breakfast, and welcome and hospitality from staff are incredible. Walking to downtown shops and restaurants is another big plus for us. Thank you! Rachel and Jerry

This is my FAVORITE bnb in Woodstock. My first stay was so good that I came back for a second less than a month later. Physically- it's is gorgeous, perfectly located, and immaculately maintained. Experientially- it's tranquil, inviting, and warm. An added benefit that must be mentioned is the innkeeper. She takes so much pride in the place and you will feel it from the moment you step on the property. You will get an incredible night's rest here, and if you're like me, you'll be back!

We decided to do a last minute night in Woodstock for my boyfriend's birthday. We stayed in a standard room. They're small but it's everything you need assuming you aren't planing to spend all day inside. A lovely desk, very comfortable bed and clean bathroom. The unit also had a TV, but we never used it. The grounds are beautiful. We spent much of the evening and morning down by the stream. You can hear the rushing water in your room with the windows open! Continental breakfast was delicious. Fresh coffee & an array of food options. Would highly recommend!
