Wilson is quite a small town so the options for lodging are limited. I happened to find The Wilson Lodge via Google and decided to give it a shot. My husband and I were not disappointed. The Lodge consists of 3 efficiency units. We were in #1 on the ground floor. There was a full kitchen, a set of bunk beds, a queen sized bed and a sleeper sofa that turned into a full sized bed. I slept on the sofa and can vouch for the comfort. All linens were provided and there were some kitchen items like pots, pans, dishes and flatware. The bathroom was small but clean, with a shower stall. What really caught my attention about this place was that the website mentioned wheel chair friendly. My husband uses a wheel chair about 85% of the time and was happy that he was able to easily maneuver around the unit in it. However, there is are two steps into the bathroom. He was able to use crutches to get into the bathroom to shower. The owners are very friendly, and The Wilson Lodge is their first venture. They are quite new at this, learning as they go. If you need anything all you need to do is call or ask. If you want to go exploring, there is a kitchen drawer full of maps that are free for the taking, and plenty of local menus on a bulletin board in the kitchen. There is also free wi-fi with a strong connection and the information is located on the fridge. Their location is on a corner where three streets meet. There is a small supermarket across one street, and a restaurant across another one so you have options when it comes it staying in or eating out.
