Found the lodge on Expedia and booked a double room for 1 night as our son was competing in the Empire State Games in Lake Placid. Lake Placid is an easy 15-20 minute drive (one road) from the lodge for those folks who don't want to pay Lake Placid prices. Shelley and Don, the owners were very accommodating as we... More

We rent a room at the cadence lodge for our ski escapade at whiteface mountain. As soon as we arrived at the lodge, we met Shelley, the owner and she was very nice with us. She offered us to be upgraded to a newly renovated room and the room that we got was perfect! Nice decoration, very confortable bed, very... More

My son and I stayed there for 2 days he was racing up at Whiteface for the weekend. We stayed in a newly remodeled room that was very clean and inviting. I talked to Shelley the owner who was very helpful with any questions that I had. She went far and above by helping me out with a couple of... More

What a wonderful find so close to the Lake Placid area just minutes from Whiteface and many Adirondack opportunities. Shelley and Don, the new innkeepers, are gracious hosts and make ones stay exceptionally comfortable. "We" stayed two weekends in a row, first as a twosome and then joined by two more the following and each of those weekends were offered... More

We just spent a weekend at the Cadence Lodge and it was even more than we expected. First, it's supremely located in the heart of the High Peaks Region, with easy access to dozens of hiking trails of every level, beautiful waterways, and Lake Placid for a little hubbub only about ten miles away. The rooms are cozy and extremely... More

This is our second stay at this property and our first with the new owners, Don and Shelley. Without a doubt, we will be back! We discovered this place last year as an inexpensive place to stay, post camping and close to the Lake Placid area. Last year is was a simple, no frills motel. The greatest feature was the... More

great place, run by some very nice folks, perfect location for lots of things in the area, the Ironman race goes by here twice on the bike, about 12 miles to Lake Placid, close to biking, hiking, fishing, tubing, walking, and shopping.

Value. This place sits perfectly in the middle of all things sacred. Mountain Biking via the BETA trails, skiing, top notch trout fishing, hiking, food, beer... they allow dogs and the owners are good people. We stayed a few weekends ago, were greeted with bike racks, steaming food coming off a grill and a nice fire area that we were... More

This property recently changed hands and the new owners plan to restore this vintage 1950’s motel back to its mid-century vibe while allowing guests to enjoy 21st century skiing, biking and enjoying the Adirondacks to their fullest! In the meantime, it’s a great place to stay. We had a king room with one of the comfiest beds we’ve slept in.... More

For the price per night you get exactly what you pay for. A basic room at a good location (if you're headed to Whiteface Mountain). The facility needs updating. The carpeting in our room had huge stains everywhere. My 6'2" husband had the shower head reach his chest. We knew when the neighboring room was showering because water pressure fell... More
