We travelled here for a the Canadian Family Day Weekend. The check in was easy and the room was amazing. When you travel here ask for the updated rooms because they are refurbished and very clean. You will also have to eat at the restaurant because it is a fun experience and the food is delicious. We have been here...

There's something to be said when you arrive at your destination where the owner is greeting you. Jerry was welcoming and truly cared about our experience. He took the time to point out local points of interest including touristy spots, local hangouts, scenic overviews and even the liquor store. Though we were not doing any fishing it was obvious he...

Had a fantastic dinner there. The food and service was great. Have been there 2 years in a row and will be there in 2017. It is one of the high points of the trip. What I like is the change in the items that they have to offer. My friend also agrees with me when we go to this area...

Delightful find just outside of Lake Placid.....hiking trails, fishing, great food, rooms were comfortable and our host - owner was a wonderfully entertaining gentleman with a great sense of humor! Can't wait to return!

In the context of a motel in a remote area of the Adirondacks this place is very nice. Clean, quiet, firm bed, good shower, good towels and on the campus of an excellent restaurant and fly shop. One caution is u must drive for breakfast. I am certain I will return.

Simple, comfortable rooms, great river access, but no public spaces...really a 60s style motor inn on a really good trout stream with access to private water and a top-notch fly-shop. Don't think high-end western resort and you'll be very happy.

I appreciate and welcome this individual's response and I agree with it. This property makes no pretense about who we are and what we offer. Our rooms are very comfortable, very clean, cozy, quiet and warm with picture window views of the Whiteface Mountain range directly behind us. Our location is second to none in our area as the entire...

We have been coming to the Hungry Trout for quite a while. Each trip is better then the last. Evan in the Fly Fishing Shop is patient, friendly and knowledgeable. Hungry Trout has many locations they own to go fly fishing and then there's always the Awesome AuSable. Jerry has provided a clean, hospitable place to stay with a fantastic...

Really enjoyed our stay at the Hungry Trout Resort. Room was clean and tastefully decorated in the classic Adirondack style. Grounds were well maintained and the outside seating patio overlooks the Ausable River. And the two restaurants had good service with great food and an awesome view. Will be going back here to stay for sure. Highly recommend!
