Ashokan Dreams was our first stop in a 13-day journey in New York. What a start! The Reservoir Suite and Anne-Marie’s hospitality set the bar high for the rest of our trip. The scenery was breathtaking and the first thing we did after parking the car was to relax in the shade of the pavilion and take in the views. Our suite was very roomy with large windows overlooking the reservoir, a beautiful stone fireplace, and a comfortable bed with lots of pillows and soft linens. The bathroom was quite roomy with a bench, and the whole suite was beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. We had a private shady patio with comfortable furniture and views for miles. The mornings started out right with delicious homemade offerings served appetizingly on a tray with hot coffee, juice, and a smile. We enjoyed the views from the stone porch and ate a leisurely breakfast at the handcrafted table and chairs. Anne-Marie supplied plenty of maps and brochures for sightseeing and guided us on the best places to visit and eat. We hated to leave after our 2 days of pure relaxation and pampering. If you are looking for a quiet and charming country bed and breakfast in the Catskill mountains, Ashokan Dreams is the place for you. Anne-Marie and Chester were great hosts. Their home is very warm and intimate, the setting serene and romantic. The space offers magnificent views of the reservoir and mountains in the distance. Our suite was very clean and cozy upon arrival and Anne-Marie was extremely accommodating. She even made scrumptious breakfasts for my vegan wife. As a knowledgeable host, Anne-Marie provided us with perfect local activity choices to fill our weekend. A wonderful anniversary weekend for my wife and I indeed. I am a very popular husband after the weekend at Ashokan Dreams. Even our 19 year old daughter, who is hard to please, had a great time and loved the home. We will definitely be back. My boyfriend and I stayed in the Reservoir Suite which did not disappoint! The room is warm and inviting and we loved sitting by the fireplace each night. Anne-Marie's breakfasts were out of this world as were the spectacular views. It was the perfect weekend getaway and we will definitely return!

Stayed in the Meadow Suite. Comfortable bed, cozy room, lovely views overlooking the Ashokan Resevoir. Zero degrees outside, but warm and inviting in my room. Lots of great local places to eat. Located about 25 mins from I87. Near ski areas, tons of beautiful places to hike and watch nature. About an hour from Poughkeepsie and 30 mins from Kingston. If you want the country, this is the place for you.

We had a very relaxing weekend and the scenery is beautiful. We’ll definitely visit again! It was the perfect weekend away from the city. The reservoir is a great place to visit as well as the state park for hiking and other outdoor activities. Restaurants in Woodstock are also worth checking out!
