We had the privilege of spending 2 nights at this slice of paradise recently. It is so peaceful and relaxing. The park like grounds are awesome and so restful. To be able to sit outside and enjoy this, is so awesome. Jo, is a wonderful hostess and is so easy to talk too and is always willing to help in...

Sometimes it pains me to give 5-star reviews because I don't want the secret to get out. However, the proprietors of Flaxhaven absolutely deserve a strong review - they run a first-class operation in every respect. My wife and I stayed here while visiting the Coromandel last March, and this remains one of the most memorable stays we've had in...

My wife booked us into the Flaxhaven Lodge for a business/pleasure trip we took to the Coromandel Peninsula in April of 2015. The drive from Auckland was spectacular especially along the coast. Flaxhaven Lodge is situated in a beautifully kept alcove a short walk from the beach. The cottage was very quite and well appointed with a comfortable bedroom, large...

Really appreciate your comments - we wish you had been able to spend more time here also. There are a lot more attractions than the ones you were able to enjoy. Good luck and best wishes with your building project in Colorado.

We have stayed here several times and are never disappointed. A lovely location, just a few minutes walk from several beaches. The cottage is lovely to stay in with privacy and comfort. The guest wing in the house is also luxurious, comfortable and private. John and Lee serve up a delightful breakfast and good hospitality. They have perfected that balance...

What a great place to stay. We loved our cottage and felt very much at home. We had privacy with our own entrance and shaded patio. The cottage was spotless and catered for our every need. Having our own sitting room gave us a welcome place to relax after our days out exploring the beautiful Coramandel Peninsular. Our cottage had...

We stayed here for two nights in early April. It is a great location for exploring the area and the accommodation couldn't be nicer. Your hosts, John and Lee, are fantastic. We stayed in the "guest wing" which is attached to the main house but really a suite with a large bedroom with King bed, small living room, 2 decks...

Ah Chris - we appreciate your comments very much. It was a pleasure to share company with you both. Do consider emigrating from Vancouver now that you know our special country, but know that you will be welcome here again any time. You are right - it can be dark at night but have you seen stars and the night...

Many thanks for this lovely endorsement. One of the special things about our business is the wonderful people like you whom we have the fortune to meet and often meet again. And we always agree with the positive response to this Mercury Bay area.

Lee and John are the best hosts you could hope for, always helpful, never in your way. Their property was built as a B&B and works very well. We like the Garden room best, more space the the others. Very well located for visiting Cooks Beach, Whitianga, and the wonderful beaches of the Coromandel Peninsula. Creative breakfasts

We started our tour around the north island at the Flaxhaven and everyplace we went after paled in comparison. So quite and relaxed, I have thought about this place every day since we left. I loved all the fruit trees and flowers. The landscaping and the garden was immaculate. The lodge is in a perfect place, just a short walk...

Lee and John, please take a bow.....wonderful hostess/host. We were made so welcome, lots of information to the local attractions....recommended local restaurants. Even made reservations for us when required. This place was recommended to us by our son and wife on their honeymoon, all the way from the UK. Breakfast is different from day to day...freshly cut fruit salad, muffin,cereals,yoghurt,bacon...
