My husband and I spent our wedding anniversary at this charming Lodge. One of the nicest features was the ability to feel completely at peace without the incessant noise of your mobile phone going off, as there is no mobile signal in the area due to being in the mountains. We loved that! The lodge is surrounded by native bush... More

I found this place on line and booked for my partners birthday. A weekend away with nature is what we needed. The hosts Charles and Tam came out to greet us on arrival and showed us around before escorting us to our room. They made us feel at home. Our room was cosy and so close to the kitchen, night... We wanted a quiet, relaxing place to stay and this certainly fulfilled our wishes. I knew my husband would love driving down the long track to get to the lodge and an extra surprise and pleasure for him was driving through the river. (its only shallow). The lodges are in a beautiful setting, lush trees and ferns and lots of... More

The remote feel of the Wairua Lodge is worth the short drive on the alternate route 309 road from highway 25 just before entering the town on Whitianga. Hosts Charles and Tam are very welcoming, provide a detail review and tour of the property and its amenities. Our room with en suite was very spacious and included a refrigerator, appliances... This place has quite an idyllic setting in rainforest and bush land. The river was a delight to swim in and the tree top bath was a lovely treat. The owners are friendly and have lots of advice to give, they also make sure they give you a detailed briefing on the property and its facilities. They will offer to... More

Thanks for your feedback, and coming to stay for two nights. Our lodge certainly has a unique offering, with it stunning landscape and central location. Guests are able to swim in the river, enjoy bush-walks, soak in the Treetop Bath-house or Night-sky Spa pool, as well as sitting around the fire-pit on fine summer evenings. Our appeal is certainly not... More

We stayed here for two nights. Probably one of the most relaxing places we have ever stayed. Only a short drive back to town. Great cooking facilities and activities. Spa, treetop bath and nice river through the property. Owners are very friendly.

We stayed 5 nights at the lodge and had a great time. We had the River suite and a connecting king room for 2 couples so we were able to use the fully equipped kitchen, dining area and lounge room to full advantage. The deck in each place also had a BBQ. Continental breakfast provisions are supplied each evening. Tam... More

The lodge is unbelieveable for those who love nature and lovely people. Mini hikes on the property, romantic bath in bush setting, moorporks, glow worms, rope swings. We never wanted to leave. We stayed in the river deck suite and it was gorgeous. Wifi in the main area if needed (luckily as our wedding photos came through!) Thank you so... More

We stayed 3 nights at the lodge and absolutely loved it. Our room (a snug) was smallish but beautifully styled, clean and comfortable. The property is stunning with lots of walking tracks and places to swim, places to sit and enjoy your meal, read or just relax. There is not a big capacity here so the atmosphere is warm and...
