HUGE and delicious serves of good country pub food. The redone dinning room is great for a meal. Love the name Merino's. Great looking logo too. If you are in the Gnowangerup Shire or driving through, stop here for dinner or a Sunday lunch. Table service lacking but staff lovely. Odd that they didn't serve tea or coffee with dessert.... Dee and Danny the Managers, run a great welcoming country pub for the locals and visitors alike. Food is great and the beer is cold. atmosphere is great and accommodation very comfortable. If you're passing though stop in for a meal or a place to sleep for the night.

Rooms didn't look to flash on the outside, but were clean & comfortable, Meals & service were excellent, Good old Aussie Country Hospitality. Meal was so large I couldn't eat It all. Town looked clean & Is a good base for exploring the Porongurups/ Stirling Range National Park.

Our room was very basic with no form of heating and the nights get cold in June. Shared bathrooms were also very basic however the water in the shower was nice and hot. Cereal and toast for breakfast in the TV room was a nice touch. Food in the dining room/restaurant was great quality and excellent value.

The night I stayed here the bar was shut, which ment no beers and No food. The rooms where clean but very small (to be expected in a country pub type accommodation) Only 1 blanket was supplied! (Lucky I had another thick blanket in the car). There where kids running around screaming to all hours of the night! (I guess... More

What a fantastic country pub, if only this pub was in Perth. I have been to this pub once before about two years ago and what a turn around, What a credit to jack and zac. Alice was very helpful and cheerful and my wife was also well looked after as she has fussy requests with her meals and cam... More

I had a business trip and stayed here. Unfortunately there was something lost in translation as they double booked me. The only room they had had no hot water as the hot water service had failed. Quickest shower I have ever had! The bed was comfy though although there was a strange insect in it!!! However, the food was superb.... More

Jack and Zac are doing a wonderful job restoring, refurbishingand upgrading this, the only Hotel in Gnowangerup. In six monhs or so they have worked (and still are working) tirelessly and energetically with admirable resluts. The Hotel itself is once again becoing a focal point of the community for socializing, and is much apprecieted by the locals. Service is very... More

While recently staying in Gnowangerup for an extended period of time I was defiantly keen to look for fun things to occupy my time. Having had bad country pub experiences I was at first a little intimidated to try the hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised at not only the restaurant (well priced for a decent feed) but the pub... I am sure we will never forget our one night stay at the Gnowangerup Hotel. It was a last minute decision to stay at the only accommodation in town and this has left us with a lasting memory of excellent hospitality, great food and the companionship of genuine hard working country people. Full marks to the new management and staff... More
