Shabby, small room in need of a good clean. Stained carpet, threadbare towels. Cheap coffee provided with no cutlery. Bed comfortable linen clean & fresh. Spiders & a gecko in the room. Noisy air conditioner needs replacing. Restaurant & pool area nicely maintained. Handy to the highway junction but there is better valued & nicer accomodation in town centre.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and tidy as well as having a buffet style dinner every night with different themes through out the week including a buffet breakfast. Defiantly recommend !!

We checked into our room and immediately noticed large bugs in various places throughout our room. We quickly collected them and flushed them down the toilet. Room was acceptable, except that most of the furniture and carpet needed replacing. The "leather" seats in the tv area had flattened upholstery that was adorned with ball point pen art from previous renters.... More

Rooms are a bit old and tired but the rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. Very quiet as well. Couldn't ask for more. We arrived there with no booking and they were very accommodating and friendly. All of the staff we met were courteous and professional and were happy to help. The restaurant on site does a nightly buffet... More

I'll be honest, we needed a place to stay for one night and for the price (more expensive than some of the 5 stars in Perth) we expected more than Bates Motel. The owners have a swanky 4x4, so obviously the money goes into fast cars instead of updating the rooms for paying guests. We arrived at dinner time, where... More

We stopped in here on our way back home. The room was cozy and quite basic. There was a fridge in the room which was handy for drinks! Restaurant food was fantastic and not badly priced. Great for a stopover place but wouldn't stay for more than a couple nights

The room was fairly clean but the good news stopped there. The door was hard to open and once inside it was obvious the door had been forced open by intruders at some stage as the hinges were twisted and the security chain had been ripped off (and not repaired). There was a phone in the room but it did... More

We have often stayed at the Gateway on our annual trips north for the last twenty years. Nothing has changed over the years. It still provides a clean bed, reasonably clean rooms and amenities and a hot shower, but it's getting really tired. The owners would do well to reinvest and renovate to bring this motel up to current standard... More

We have been staying here for years and I think it is getting too run down. Although the rooms are large enough they smell and the shower/bath is disgusting , they really need to be re tiled. The towels were worse than rags. Reception staff were friendly however one of the waitresses was so unfriendly she made our dinner unpleasant.... More

We called for their Saturday Seafood Smorgasborg two weeks back and would recommend the cuisine to all. The range of seafoods was excellent, fresh and beautifully presented. At a reasonable cost and live music added to the ambience.
