Empyre Hotel felt special right from the friendly phone call booking. Rooms furnished with antique European and Asian furniture have big very comfortable beds with modern bathrooms. One of the two rooms booked opened on to the upstairs balcony which was a delightful spot to relax with drinks in the early evening. While the Empyre offers bed and breakfast accommodation...

Good service, friendly owners, breakfast was great, rooms were full of antiques, but the bathrooms were modern and lovely. We had the Empyre Suite and the Albion Suite - which gave us the entire upstairs balcony to sit on at sundown. Just lovely.

Stayed in the Empyre room – originally booked the Garden Room (on ground floor) and was upgraded to the Empyre room upstairs, with a lovely verandah. Only downside for this room are the very narrow, steep stairs to get to it – you need to be fairly fit. My husband bounced up and down them, while I toiled up and...

The welcome, the accomodation, the position, the service, there is nothing here to fault. Beautifully appointed and maintained, the place is great. Topped off by a warm and casual attitude from the hosts coupled with a magnificent standard of delivery. Go out of your way to spend time here.

What a fabulous place. We stayed here last minute after not being able to get accommodation in Bendigo. A blessing in disguise! Stunning décor, great rooms and very friendly hospitality. A must if you are in the area.

We stayed just the one night at The Empyre, in the McGuire Room. Very comfortable, compact room with a quality bed and bathroom. Add the inviting living room / library, a breakfast with a variety of choices in the breakfast room / bar and and a perfect host, and you have a quality B & B right in the centre...

Two nights in the Albion ("run away from home") suite at The Empyre will restore spring to your step and roses to your cheeks! Sip a welcoming drink in the cosy sitting room, luxuriate in the fine decor of your suite (truly decadent bath!) and check out the locals from the stately wrought iron balcony. Enjoy a particularly tasty omelette...

I stayed here for 3 nights with my Mum while we visited family in the area. Our rooms were beautiful and the attention to detail made our stay relaxed, comfortable and a joy. A special shout out to Tony who was a fabulous host and breakfast chef. The breakfasts were fab and the choices excellent - Tony even made me...

A really great hotel and fantastic people. We enjoyed the luxury of beautiful antique furniture, slick bathroom and excellent breakfast. Hosts were warm, helpful and very solicitous of my slightly frail mother and father-in-law. Right in the middle of town, and we were sorry it was a midwinter trip so we couldn't take advantage of the lovely outdoor courtyard.
