We rented the tower cottage for a week and we're delighted with this quirky accommodation. It is a 17th century signal tower with bags of character and history. Tiny rooms on 4 levels with spiral staircases to all levels. It provided secluded self catering with our own bbq area. Ted and Barbara were welcoming hosts transporting our luggage to and... More

Okay, on Garrison campsite you have the chance to fall asleep with the sound of the wind and of the waves on the coast. You will wake up with birds singing upon your tent. It's really quiet and there are different fields that you can choose between. There are two buildings with kitchen and toilets and showers, for man and... More

If , like me, you have a great desire to make your own glamping experience in a perfect location, then this is where it's at. Huge, almost bowling green flat pitches with clear white pitch marks, electric hook up, lots of wind protection from hedges in a lovely parkland setting. A two minute walk and you get to see the... Please be aware if travelling with a dog that you won't be able to pitch next to a friend / family in another tent with another dog. If you are making seperate bookings you are liable to pay your deposit then either turn up and have to camp elsewhere from your acquaintances or if you have your deposit forfeit even... More

We were looking forward to our stay at the Garrison campsite, until at the time of booking we were told that our Staffordshire Bull terror would not be welcome here. I find this discusting that such a place can discriminate against our loving and soft family pet. If dogs are allowed as stated this should include every legal breed such... More

We had a ready tent, equipped with basic gear that was functional. The tent would sleep 8 but bear in mind that you pay £1.00 for every shower so add on another £56.00 just to shower every day. Site pleasant but spoilt by very old facilities that didn't seem very clean. All week we just added recycling to the already... More

The field I camped in was nice, at the top of a hill. The toilets and showers were appalling. Floor constantly wet and muddy. When it rained there was a stream of water coming through the sky lights above every toilet and close to the electric lights. The owners were not interested in the complaints. The reply was they clean... More

We have just returned from a 1 week stay at the tower. First impressions were not good as the reception was in ramshakled shed and the lady behind the counter (we found out later was the joint owner) was brusk and not at all welcoming. We were told that the keys were in the door The toilet/wet room was well... More

The Garrison campsite feels very private and compact because it is divided up into a number of small fields by a network of hedges. These hedges also shelter the site from the wind which would otherwise be a problem in a hilltop location. Ted, the owner could not be more helpful, bringing all the camping equipment up from the quay... More
