Had heard amazing things about this hotel, but never had the privilege to stay until this week. Arrived in wind and rain, and as it was so dark, initially couldn’t find the entrance! But, on arrival a very warm welcome. Shown to my room - Another walk through the wind and

Arrived in the dark wind and rain, but greeted as if we were old friends returning home! This hotel is an absolute gem. I stayed in a seaview garden room. Don't be put off by the garden rooms which on first impression are reminiscent of a butlins chalet circa 1950's, the rooms

Dear jonworld Thank you so much for taking your time to review the Star Castle over New Year! We are so pleased that you felt looked after what with the foggy conditions keeping you on the mainland for an extra day. We do offer two different styles of accommodation, the castle being in keeping with the 15th Century castle and the garden rooms being more cottage style, these styles do appeal to different guests and seasons. I am so pleased that you enjoyed the food and restaurant service, this is the area of the hotel we are exceptionally proud of. It is great that you enjoyed the party on New Years Eve as well as the black tie dinner on New Years Day. In the summer the communal areas are less crowded as there is so much outside space as well as staggered dining times allowing for slightly less people in the bar at one time compared to Christmas and New Year. We are so pleased that you had a great time and hope that you would consider visiting us again next New Years! Kind regards James Francis

Overall a wonderful experience. Given the quality of the restaurants and bedrooms I do not think it was expensive. Our garden room was immaculate. The situation is amazing perched above the town with views of the nearby islands.
