We stayed 3 nights because of a wedding we were attending in Anacapri. The hotel location is very difficult to find if you don’t know. The staff is extremely unfriendly. They barely help you with anything. They have a breakfast served until 10:30 am. We went at 10:30 and they, not only didn’t want to serve us anything to drink or eat, but also they were very rude. Let’s talk about the room. The room is very old. The shower is just minuscule and dirty. Honestly... no service there, no cleaning... a real disappointment. I don’t recommend this hotel at all.
The hotel is located well below the main road near the Caprile square, down a long flight of steps. This is a historic place the queen Victoria of Sweden lived here to be near hear lover Axel Munthe. I had a nice and spacious room, somewhat in need of reburbishment. My main disappointment is that Wifi is only in the lobby, I don't quite understand why the hotel does not make the modest investment to expand the internet connectivity to the rooms.
We stayed here for the Easter weekend 3 nights. We liked the hotel and location. We stayed in a large garden view room. The hotel is situated down several sets of stairs so it's away from the main road and noise that it brings with it. The hotel is all white with a beautifully tiled lobby. This was the house of the former queen of Sweden. The only things we didn't like was how small the breakfast was. Just some croissants and butter and jam. We did get coffee or Tea discussed this with other guests and they felt the same.
Nice location. However the room (19)was musty and very dark. The free wifi is ONLY AT THE DINING AREA. Probably there are nicer rooms in the hotel...we were unlucky. I think it is not permitted for a hotel to have such rooms!specially for a price like the hotel asks for!
A lovely old building... With very nice grounds.... In a nice part of Capri... But it needs a hell of a lot of updating... Rooms very out dated.. lights and lamps that didn't work.. badly scuffed furniture, shower had seen better days... Breakfast was a major disappointment... We ended up buying a few bits from the local store and having breakfast on our balcony.. which brings me to my next point... The table on our balcony... had a table cloth which was already covered in stains... And had I not asked wouldn't have got changed.. having said all this , the hotel had a certain charm , and to be honest very cheap and convenient. Would I recommend it yes... This could be a beautiful boutique hotel, with a little money spent on it.
