We have just returned home on Sunday after spending 2 wks in Rodo Star Hotel and it was the best 2 wks we have spent anywhere for such top class service. We checked in around 1.30am ..Bar was open and we met Theo ..a great friendly guy..as Felip is also...we bought a couple of drinks ..as AI finish at 11pm but sure its open from 10am 😲so reasonably priced. Our family room was great ,seperate sleeping area for the kids with bunk beds in our room which is very hard too get now with any hotel !Cleaned ever day,spotless..the girls do an amazing job ..most mornings we would be still in the bed but they would come back later when we were at the pool.Food fab...from Breakfast,Lunch and Dinner ..Chef and his team cooked autentic Greek food and European ..also a big shout out to Gyros/Bbq Chef out on the stunning terrace ..amazing food and to the great girls in restaraunt serving ..so pleasant. Then to the Pool Bar..what can I say ..amazing pool but it was Costas and the very 'crazy'Jordan that made the pool area...music,fun,and 'special'cocktails everyday ..thank you so much you are both great guys. Then to Moss the Manager what an amazing Lady ..the heart of the hotel ..you are truly brilliant at your job but its not just that to you it is your life/world and you treat all your guests like family .Effharidos for making our holiday so special😘We cant wait to see use again ..already😉😍 Sonia,Pat,Holly & Bobby-Jack Byrne x

The Hotel is well kept and clean. The rooms layout are easy access and very spacious and modern. There’s a fridge in the room of standard under the counter size and a open wardrobe with lots of space for clothes with also a safe inside too. There is aircon and works a treat if you go around this time of year you will need it !! The bathroom is very nice and a large shower cubicle also. The bathroom window was a little tricky to open though. The views from around the balcony in ours were fantastic over looking the pool area and the village and mountains in the distance. The pool area is again fairly spacious and a decent sized pool for the amount of rooms in the hotel it’s never full of people in it. The bar by the pool is easy and so quick to grab your drinks and also the daytime snacks from 10am till 12pm are also easy help yourself. Also top tip where ever you are around the pool the sun will reach you after morning has broke when it comes from around the next mountain. It gets hot ! The restaurant is good but inside quite small the terrace is nice to sit at with fans cooking it down. The food can get a bit repetitive but it is nice and easy help your self to drinks at meal times. The inside eating area can get really hot at night and almost unbearable but what can you expect in the middle of June and the buffet being hot also. The staff are all nice friendly and make conversation during the day at the pool bar they play music and if you want a song just ask they won’t mind. The restaurant staff are nice and friendly and also stop to talk. The manager is amazing you can not fault her she will do anything to help if she can, she is very friendly If you see her about she will stop and talk or when you pass reception if she’s on she will always say hello. You don’t feel bad or awkward to approach her. The village is down a very steep hill and that’s not exaggerating at all it is a struggle to get back up it to the hotel and it’s a good 15 min walk down to the village. The village doesn’t have much going on there’s a few bars which are all reasonably priced and one or two souvenir shops and pharmacy’s. But if you wanted to go out for a few hours it’s not ideal. However 15 mins in a taxi from the hotel is faliraki which is beaming with bars, clubs and restaurants and shops !!! And even a McDonald’s and a fantastic beach it’s worth it to go during the day and night it’s like a different town. The hotel entertainment is good but when there’s isn’t any it can become a little tiring but the hotelcyou never fail to make friends and come up with your own fun with them whether you get cards from the shop in the hotel which sells anything you need and is good priced.

Both evening bar staff are very rude. Shame really as the other staff and cleaning staff are so friendly and very helpful. It spoils your holiday to see 2 miserable faces who serve half measures with a attitude that is very hostile. Have spoken to the lovely manageress who has already spoken with the short skinny barman. But alas it doesn’t seem to have worked. Won’t be stopping here again.

My partner and myself have just got back from a one week holiday here. (14th-21st June) We had a fab time, both enjoying the hotel and the local area. We have seen some other mentions on here about some aspects of the hotel which I feel need some clearing up if you are deciding whether to holiday here or not. Firstly the staff... are all wonderful. The Manager was a delight from start to finish helping us with anything she possibly could. She even gave us a massive hug on departure along with the other guests leaving with us. The Housekeeping staff were also great, having fresh towels daily as well as fresh linens and a well cleaned space. The bartenders were always enjoying themselves whilst getting the job done. Really couldn’t fault any of them. The Air Con and Wifi... these are not included even thought the hotel is all inclusive, because all inclusive is only the board basis, meaning you get breakfast, lunch and dinner included as well as snacks and all drinks! They come at an additional cost of €7 a day for air con and €15 for the week for WiFi (not €50 that a previous review mentions) this we paid happily as although not essential, we wanted them to give us a more relaxing break. The Food... there is loads on offer and it varies daily! A mixture of British and Greek food as well as other treats. If you have allergies, they will cater for you. There was a barbecue pit outside too which also had daily options. Would highly recommend the Gyros for lunch 😋 The drinks... are all local and basic, but there are other drinks on offer if you want to pay for them. There is vodka, gin, rum, brandy and tequila as part of the AI as well as local beer, wine and soft drinks. We switched between drinking these and paying for some of the offerings in the evening and found all of these to be very affordable. You can’t take glassware to your room, for very sensible health and safety reasons. So we bought some local beers (€0.76 each from the local supermarket) and put these in our fridge in our room. The Room...we were in the area at the back that I think is being referred to as the new block. The room was recently refurbished and had a stunning view (pictured) from the balcony. The bathroom was newly refurbished and the room had a lovely grey wood style throughout. The ceiling was not painted, but this is part of the rustic style of the room which we loved. The area... ok so this was the only downfall for us, but we spoke to the reception and sorted it in a second. The local area is small and quiet, not too much to do. But saying that, there are places to eat, drink and supermarkets so the essentials are all there. We wanted to go see Lindos and Rhodes town but when we asked about Taxi’s this was out of our budget (€45 each way) so instead they asked us if we would like to hire a car, which we did for €40 a day (a bit steep but we collected and dropped it off from the hotel and this included full insurance) and we saw both areas with ease! Both are well worth a visit! The Hill... it’s there, it’s quite steep, but it’s not that bad. If you have trouble walking you can arrange a taxi up and down to the village if needed. To be honest if you don’t like hills, Rhodes may not be the place for you overall, but you would be missing out on seeing a beautiful island! The Beach... is not 1 hour away like a previous reviewer said. It took us less than 30mins to walk. Simply walk down towards the village, take a left and follow the signs at the end of that road to the beach. Just follow the main road. It is rocky, but the water is like glass 😍 we went late afternoon rather than the heat of the day which we would recommend doing, or first thing in the morning. Overall we had a wonderful time here to relax and take in Rhodes. We highly recommend the Rodos star and think it is wonderful value for money! Last few tips, at the pool, go for the blue and white sun beds as they are more comfortable and enjoy the coffee, it’s good quality!
