Came here last minute through hays travel Newport and thoroughly enjoyed it we came back a week after being home , the rooms are cleaned every day and the family are just Greek , very friendly and treat you like family , lovely clean pool great for the middle off heat wave , only down side was due to covid no restaurant only breakfast and toasties but that should be better next year and there is a great restaurants next door makalies who does a great range off food from English breakfasts to Greek dishes
Love it ... Simple clean welcoming relaxing . Hoping for a 4th time. Quaint Greek village that gives a taster of real Greek life. Fabulous restaurants and bars. A real hidden gem. If you want a young lively resort then this is not the place. Golden days is a well located spotless hotel that cannot do enough for you. Basic does what it says. But the hardworking family will go out of their way to accommodate any request or help. Lovely hotel lovely village lovely people. Just relax .......
I stayed here with my better half for a week in September 2019. Plus points: Friendly staff and free wi-fi. Other points - it's on a busy road, so expect to hear plenty of traffic during your stay, Self-catering facilities were poor (and we go Greece every summer, so we don't have high expectations). Cleaners start around 8.15am, so dont expect a lie-in! There was building work going on across the road, too. Not the hotel's fault, i know, but we would have thought twice about booking if we'd known. With a bit of maintenance and thought, this could be a nicer hotel. BTW: If you're eating out, go to TO KAPAPAKI neat the centre; lovely eaterie with outdoor seating, wonderful wine and
We booked a S/C apartment but impossible to do on the extremely limited facilities so had to eat out and went £600 over budget. Did not find staff friendly at all apart from 1 Tambiko he was nice. And one never stopped shouting at everyone. staff and a few guests. Reception/ bar nice area. Pool area nice but sunbeds dreadful. No cushions so hard and uncomfortable and not ajustable. Very little choice for food pizza or toastie both awful. This place has potential but it isnt being used. Air con is €70 for 2 weeks. Very Noisy at night into early hours and noisy from 7 a.m staff and cleaners so we came home shattered after hardly any sleep. Maid tidied beds and gave clean towls daily but toilet was dirty. And and the toilet brush must have been 50 years old. Minging. I bought my own bleach to attempt to keep it clean. I would not stay here again. …
Just returned from the Golden Days Hotel our second visit and cannot understand the criticism. The staff are very friendly and are gradually updating the hotel we were in one of the newly refurbished rooms it had tea/coffee making facilites a tv and lovely views from the balcony. Afandou village has everything you need the locals are very friendly, The beach is a 20 minuite walk away over the bridge the comfortable sunbreads are 5 euros with very friendly beach attendants. There is a very popular beach cafe which serves drinks and food reasonably priced. So please do not take any notice of the bad reviews we will definatly be going back.
