Upon arrival the staff were attentive, but quick to point out hidden extra charges not detailed at the time of booking or any time before out arrival. The first of extra fee's 0.50 cents per room per night ranging up to 4 Euros (this was reduced to 3EURO once we started speaking Greek, obviously aimed at ripping off the English tourist. Second extra fee AIR CON 6Euros Per Day! Third extra fee Safe Boxes 10 Euro per week. Fourth extra fee 7 Euro for Towels (a basic essential just like AIR CON) per week! On attending the room, the bed only had one pillow per person, no toilet roll in the bathroom. The Balcony was overcome and blocked by a huge overgrown tree dropping insects and debris all over the floor. the single curtain was as thin as its comes allowing all the heat from the sun during the day so your room heats up to a nice 38deg whilst you're out all day and so you're forced to pay for AIR CON to get a half decent sleep of a night. We did not fall for that one.! So we attempted to sleep in the heat, which was almost managed but for the constant screaming and shouting non-stop all night and into the early hours from the drunks in the reception/bare area of which our room was merely around the corner. WE had to keep te TV on loud every single night to try and drown out the noise, It proved of little use, and so every day we were severely sleep deprived. The drinks at the bar were almost double of the surrounding bars, the food was basic so we didn't eat here. The rooms were cleaned every day with or without your consent, and the cleaner's helped themselves to 20 Euros, a pen and a nail file. Very sticky fingers. we contacted the management to address this after we left them a note asking for the return of said items and they were not returned. unsurprisingly the manager ignored our message. on the 3rd day i woke up in a panic thinking the room was on fire, only to learn that we had chain smokers checked into the room next door the night before. Our clothes and room stank to high heaven. DISGUSTING. Also, apparently, you were not allowed to drink or eat food on the premises that wasn't bought there, but the staff can order PIZZA in.! When we tried to leave for the day to go to main town Rhodes the management tried to BS us into paying 30 Euros for a taxi there and back (60 in total) we got the bus.. All in all this place is designed to scam you, rob you and rip you off, and left us feeling like we NEVER EVER want to return to this place. Be warned.

2 stars hotel is pushing it, especially when you add the poor customer service, to the filthy rooms that are dangerous and extremely uncomfortable. The pool hadnt been cleaned in a very long time and 1 of the owners had to be warned about how he spoke to my wife and daughter, They hve no respect for women and the manager a woman herself is pathetic to say the least. I would say youget what you pay for but you get far less with this hotel, steer clear as there are many many hotels in the same area better than this and at better prices

We were a party of five: a couple, a grandmother, her daughter and grand daughter. The night before our flight we got a message that this hotel had plumbing issues and that we would be relocated to their other hotel, Kathina in Faliraki. Fine. Accepted. But when we arrived to Rodos, we got a message, that we do have rooms in the originally booked hotel, Golden Days. Fine. Accepted. When we got there, we are assigned a large family room with five beds "just for one night, maybe we can fix you another room tomorrow". Maybe? I did not accept this. After about three hours of waiting for a solution me and my husband were assigned a room about 100 meters away. A terrible, filthy room up above a restaurant, the size was about 10 m2. The bed sheets were dirty. We spent the first night there because it was late and we did not have an option. Next morning Golden Days still didn't have a room for us, so they sent us to Helgas Paradies, a nice hotel up above the hills (separate review). But even when the whole confusion was made by Golden Days, they refused to pay for the price difference for more than three nights, so we had to move again. To Golden Days. For the third time in one week. We got number 43 in the bottom floor. It is renovated. The glass door to the toilet has a knob that closes itself when you close the door, locking the toilet door so you can't open it from the outside. We had to call somebody to open the door twice. Cockroaches and plenty of ants were a common sight. Well. The air conditioning works. In this room. Not in the other old rooms, where my mother, sister and niece spent their holiday. This family holiday turned out to be a pure nightmare because of this unacceptable poor way of treating customers. And, I almost laughed when I heard a British family complaining about the exact same issue in the lobby. OVERBOOKING. Don't trust these people. The owners seem friendly, but are not suitable to run a hotel. After all this ordeal they won't leave you with nothing but bad memories of Rodos and of Anfantou. Never again.

we arrived at 5am we registered paid bedroom tax, air con, safty deposit box. and then was shown to our room.. we were in room 44 a family room. there was three of us. four single beds quit a large room . one double wardrobe and two large draws not a lot of storage space for a family. fridge was small did'nt have an ice box . bathroom was a wet room really nice. but the show was old. when we opened the curtains to our horror we had'nt have an outside space no balcony or terrace. if we had of had this space we would of been happy. oh no remote for tv. asked for one they did not have one. So we asked for another room we really needed outside space. we waited three days then was finally ,moved. our new room was 112 it needed to be updated but it was clean and tidy. We had a balcony which we wanted. Room had two single beds and a put u up bed. beds were comfy. had a flat screen tv but not plug socket lol. small fridge no ice box. we hadnt got a bin for rubbish in room asked for one. reply was you have one in bathroom. this is the first hotel ive ever been in that didnt have a bin. Bathroom really needs updating. Toilet didnt flush properly then it took about 30 mins for cistern to fill. We told them they said they would sort it. never got done. Rooms were cleaned every day if we didnt make beds the bedding was changed and if we left the towels on the toilet seat they were also changed. Reception staff. The daughter in law to owner she was really lovely always pleasant and helped me sort out car hire and had probs with return transfer to airport and bless her she tried her best to sort it.. but i finished up doing it myself. the young girl on reception was lovely to. But the two men my god if they were to smile their faces would crack. they were so miserable. the young girl working on breakfasts and in bar until 4 pm was like a breath of fresh air. she was always wanting to help you if she could. Pool area was nice not enough beds though. i know it sounds like im doing lots of downers on this hotel. But it really wasnt that bad.. but would of been a lot better if the male staff could of been more friendly

I have stayed in Afandou many times and have absolutely loved the quiet village with lovely restaurants and friendly locals. When we arrived at this hotel we instantly felt on edge and not welcomed. We didn’t so much as get a smile from the receptionist but remained optimistic. When we walked to our room we found small hairs on the bed (a few on the pillow).. there was a tissue under the bed, along with other bits of tissue on the floor.. there was a used bar of soap in the shower, crumbs by the kitchen and long bits of hair on the floor and the dressing table. Aircon was paid for but not working when we were in the room. The hotel & rooms are dated and not hat you would expect from the pictures advertised. I can appreciate this is a budget hotel, however there is no price for kindness and accommodation should be clean. When we brought this up with staff they didn’t seem happy and made us feel very uncomfortable. Alternative air bnb sought. Would not recommend

We were a family of 6 people visiting this hotel and had the time of our lives. The staff were very kind and service minded and helped us with any problem we had. The staff is always available, and ready to compromise to make the guest happy. The rooms are clean and nitty, and every room has a bathroom, small kitchen and a balcony! That was a big plus for me. This hotel is perfect for any kind of vacation, and surely it lives up to its name.

Very baisc Hotel in need of a room refurb… It has everything you want pool wise/Snack food wise staff to be fair are nice and friendly. Taxi rank outside the front door but we mostly walked around. Wasn’t high season and think the hotel is closed for the winter season so possibly just caught them at a bad time.
