This is certainly off the beaten track but worth a detour to eat in such a wonderful setting in the old abbey cloisters. We enjoyed every moment of this meal from the ringing the doorbell and walking through the lamp-lit corridors of the old abbey buildings to the aperitif on the terrace and then the meal itself. The food was... More

Treated to a fabulous meal here for my birthday and made to feel very special. The terrace is wonderful both before our meal and after for coffee. We ate in the old cloisters which were beautiful the food was fabulous a set 5 course meal catering for vegetarians too . The service was also fantastic . A very special place... More

Just the most wonderful evening, drinks on the terrace with beautiful views and the dinner in the internal quadrangle, surrounded by candlelight. It was truly amazing and the food was sensational. Excellent service - Peter was great. Thank you so much, would recommend to all.

What a wonderful welcome from the host. We were shown to the terrace for drinks and what a view of the grounds which contain a swimming pool and lovely garden for those guests staying here. There is a five course set menu, please note if you are a vegan or vegetarian or simply a fussy eater there is no alternative.... More

From the moment my wife and I were greeted by the hostess Katie and as we entered the magnificent, artfully decorated corridor of the castle, we knew this is the place where we would love to live. We were shown around the elegantly furnished “public” rooms, tea-room, dining room and TV/game room and the large terrace protected by a pergola... More

After an amazing wedding last year it's always difficult to know if you should risk returning to a place but we had no need to worry! The chateau feels like it's our chateau, our special place and it didn't disappoint this time. We stayed for 2 nights and although the weather wasn't what we had hoped the food, service and... More

We spent a couple of days at the Chateau in July to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary (we also got married at the chateau in July 2015). Sadly the weather in the Ariege wasn't kind to us this year save for the last hour of our stay but Katie, Peter, Tom (the chef) and the staff made our stay wonderful.... More

If you're looking for a small hotel with plenty of charm, lots of history and great food then you won't do better than this. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the service friendly. Rooms are large (by French standards) and full of the character that epitomises this old abbey. Dinner was a set menu at around 46 Euro, with each... More

A year ago, we decided to renew our vows, but wanted to do so in France with a few friends and family. By chance, Katie Lawton answered my email... She was lovely - we jumped in, blind faith! Katie organized everything for us, was helpful and attentive to details. We had never visited before THE day, arrived and were just... More

We were invited for a small family wedding. The family rented the entire Abbaye. The 1.5 drive from Toulousse was easy and very scenic. The moment we arrived at the Abbaye we felt like we were in a truly magical place. We have stayed in some beautiful hotels around the wonderful and this one was my favourite. L' Abbaye is... More
