This is our 3rd trip to Chateau de Camon, although we were surprised to find that the last time was in 2008-had we really left it so long? The good new is that it really hasn't changed a bit. Peter and Katie are still the most wonderful, thoughtful hosts. Thomas is still doing an excellent job in the kitchen and... More

We were shown to our room quickly in the 1,000 year old monastery. A large room on the second floor that could be a suite if needed, it was comfortable with lovely views over the valley and complete bathroom. The Abbey is a chambres d'hote and as such can come with dinner as well as breakfast. Only one dinner menu... More

Evening dinner in the courtyard of this very special restaurant with friends. From beautiful aperos on the terrace to after dinner coffee just as I like it, I could not fault the service, food or gorgeous setting. Five wonderfully presented, delicious courses, all served discretely and with just the right amount of time in-between each dish. A memorable meal and... More

This is one of the most amazing places I have stayed. It's a thousand years old and everywhere you go is like visiting a museum. Character plus. We stayed in the Jacinthe room which is a good size and had a clean and modern bathroom. Breakfast was outside with an elevated view of the beautiful French countryside. Although we only... More

Recognize that you are staying in a centuries old converted Benedictine monastery - exterior walls are 5 foot thick, steps are a bit uneven, lighting is an afterthought - as it has to be. It's a bit like a Spanish Parador, with style and elegance. There is an excellent small dining area in the old cloisters just doing a prix... More

Run by a wonderful young English couple, the hospitality is evident right from arrival. The rooms are quaint and well decorated and the views of the surrounding countryside are like a painting. Definitely out-of-the-way, but what a great find.

Finding this amazing gem run by owner patrons Kate and Peter L’Abbaye is a hotel with an evening restaurant or an evening restaurant with rooms – take your pick. The 14 rooms are all unique with even an apartment to rent. The history of the building is equally fascinating and Peter will tell you all about that. The 5 course... More

We stayed two nights here and dinner was the absolute highlight. Delightful to have an aperitif on the terrace with amazing view. The setting in the cloisters is perfect and matched by brilliant food and wine recommendations. Worth every cent.

Back in our beloved Chateau last month and still salivating at the memory of the gastronomic delights enjoyed on our degustation menu by Chef Tom......out of this world!!! Soooo lovely to see host Katie once again who welcomes you back like a long lost friend and no matter how busy she is, always makes you feel like you're the only... More

Though I positively reviewed the Abbeye in 2014, I need to do so again as I recently experienced 6 venues on a recent trip to France/Spain and I want to stress what superb value and quality you get for your money. Each bedroom is individual and sumptous. The lounge and study are large, luxurious and comfortable and dining in the... More
