The hotel is certainly beautifully located and I certainly cannot complain about the great view from our room.
It is nevertheless overpriced for the standard that is offered & apart from a smiley young girl who welcomed us, the staff is utterly rude and unfriendly....More

Great views, friendly staff and a short walk to town. Awesome for a relaxed and chill time. Definitely get up for sunrise, first light is amazing from your room balcony! Carpet in hallway could use a refresh.

As far as I am aware you really need to rent a car to get there. I believe you can go from Bastia to Corte and Calvi by train. But from there (or Ajaccio) it's a very long taxi. You might be able to get one of the tour buses from Ajaccio that go to the Calanches to drop you off and pick you up another day - just a thought. If you do rent a car, going from Calvi to Piana on the D81 is the way to go - but drive slowly. And if you rent, get the smallest car that will take all your stuff - roads are narrow and parking spots tiny!
FYI I think you can get to Pigna from Calvi by taxi or local bus (or if you are a hiker there's another option), but again a rental car is much easier to do the Artisan's road.
