A true 5* experience from the welcome to the enormous and sumptuous rooms, the fabulous breakfast and the delicious dinner. Perched on top of the hill the views are spectacular and you are right amongst the cobbled streets for a wander. No where better to stay, or eat, on the Right Bank.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and enjoyed dinner here every time. Having had the good fortune to stay in many of the top hotels in France, I would have to say that while it is not cheap, it is most certainly value for money and on a par with the very best in France. You can perhaps... More

My wife and I spent two nights here in October. It was my second visit, and I knew this is where we needed to be. Situated at the top of an ancient and picturesque hill town, the views are amazing. The hotel is magnificent, with service to match. The housekeeping was over the top. I had to take a photo... More

The hotel is undeniabely stunning. The town is so charming, I compare it to a French version of Orvieto. Our room (Cheval Blanc) was gorgeous, with a huge terrace with jaw dropping views. The service was very good, particularly at the front desk. The gentleman who was working in the dining room wasn't particularly friendly, but it may have been... More

Since I like to complain about something, despite the title of my review, parking can be a challenge, even though the hotel will park your car for you. I wonder why didn’t they think about parking when they were building the town on the middle ages. Now, for the good part: FOOD, LOCATION, GREAT SERVICE, everything, except parking. Pity we... More

Beautiful hotel superb location right in town, with a jaw dropping view from the terrace. Had a wonderful meal in the restaurant and the best service imaginable. Only 1 complaint, our party had 3 rooms and all three were too hot even with the AC on. 1 room had a portable AC unit delivered, and the other 2 rooms were... More

My husband and I recently returned from a Denmark/France trip for a friend's wedding in Denmark, and afterward we joined several friends for 4 nights at the Hostellerie de Plaisance to visit St. Emilion and the Bordeaux wine region. For comparative purposes, we also stayed 2 nights at the Nimb in Copenhagen; 2 nights at Bromoelle Kro in Denmark, site... More

We had an expensive room which was nice but two lifts and a 5 minute journey including outside pathway to get to the main hotel. Also our room didn't have great views and no outside space. The breakfast and restaurant for dinner were truly great experiences. Staff lovely. Just aren't any things to Do at the hotel like pool or... More

We stayed here as part of a roadtrip, and overall we thought the hotel and restaurant were excellent. Out room, Bellevue, overlooked the bell tower and square next door, and were very comfortably furnished. There was a lovely welcome pack of water, large fruit platter and sweets, and the gadgets were great - don't turn the volume up on the... More

Our room was lovely, beautiful Clarins products in the bathrooms and well air-conditioned. The HIGHLIGHT however was the FOOD!!! Philippe Etchebest a 2 star Michelin chef cooked for us and it was MAGNIFICENT. The food was original, yet tasty and visually just AMAZING.
