We spent two lovely days in one of the high-ceiling bungalows of Lune de Miel, generously and beautifully equipped. The bungalows are near the incredible Playa Grande, one of the endless sandy beaches of the area. But the best of all is Jean, the French owner of Lune de miel, who gives his guests apart from impeccable service the feeling of having found a place that feels like home Wunderschöne, komfortable Bungalows in der Nähe von Playa Grande, einer der schönsten um Punta del Diablo. Der Besitzer Jean, eine Franzose, ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit, man fühlt sich hier sofort wie zuhause. Sehr empfehlenswert

What a wonderful place to wind away the time, relax and recharge. Not only is the place itself beautiful, well thought out and lovingly designed with a lush green garden around the pool and cute little details within the cabins, but the thing that really makes the difference here is the knowledge that at any moment in time the hosts are ready and willing to help out in any way possible to make your stay special. I knew from exchanging the first emails 6 weeks before my stay that this would be the place! The pool area is just great. If you can’t be bothered to go to the beach, or simply don’t fancy being surrounded by other people while sunbathing then it’s a perfect way to chill for a while in peace and quiet. The place is quiet and is perfect for relaxing, which is exactly what I wanted to do. I stayed long term, for three weeks, and it was simply wonderful. They cleaned the room and changed the sheets every few days, and unlike other places there was always soap, washing up liquid, loo paper - the kind of details that many places overlook. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to stay in, cooker, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, oven, it’s all there. And if you fancy a lazy day there’s a TV with all sorts of channels - sports, movies, series (and you can put them all into original English language if required). All in all, it was a fantastic stay and I couldn’t recommend it more!

We just completed a 2 night stay in the posada. The owners had decided to close after April 1 due to reduced demand but were so wonderful to honor our reservation! Wish we could have stayed longer to truly appreciate the options and amenities to prepare our own meals and have some more relaxation time but the beds and space were very comfortable for our stay! We were near enough to the beach for a nice walk and also close to Il Tano which we enjoyed for 2 dinners! Wonderful stay! Thank you also to Natalia and Lucy for their service and kindness!

4 small red cabins placed around a small, nice swimmingpool and garden = the great Posada Lune de Miel - the place to stay when in Punta del Diablo! We stayed 3 nights in one of the cosy red cabins - they had everything we needed for some great days/nights. This is also one of few places in Punta del Diablo that keeps open year round (many hotels and B&B closes during low season) We came by car to Punta del Diablo and drove around for some time before we found our place - note that here are few signs to help you find your hotel. On arrival the sweet and helpful Lucy met us and showed us our cabin. It had everything we needed - a good and comfortable bed with mosquito net, sofa, kitchen with all you need to make yourself breakfast and dinner. Small and clean bathroom. We also had a small privat outdoor seating area - we enjoyed the silence there while enjoying a cold drink and some snack. There is a grill for barbeque in the garden - talk to the staff before use. No meals are included. Wifi inside the cabin is good. There are some chairs and sunbeds around the small swimmingpool. Lucy was so helpful - offering to help us with our laundry after weeks on the road There is a small supermarket 3-5 min walk from the cabins - you find a bigger one on the main road, 4-5 min drive from the Posada. We stayed during low season - most of the restaurants were closed. Still - one of the best rated restaurants were open - and it is right behind the garden, a 3 min walk - Il Tano Cucina. If you follow the road down to the beach/village it is a 10-12 min walk. You will have the beach to yourself during the low season - Punta del Diablo is a paradise in low season if you are looking for peace and quiet - if you are looking for party and crowds of people, visit here in late December. So if you find yourself in Punta del Diablo - Posada Lune del Miel is the place to stay!

We booked here partly because we were advised that the owner spoke English. She was not there, because it was the off-season. We drove five hours to get to PDD and then made the mistake of driving around town a bit before arriving; I had advised the owner when we would be arriving and we were a bit early, plus we wanted to see the village a bit. We got rather disoriented, however, and we had a very hard time finding the Posada; most of the streets in the town have NO street signs on them. I refused to walk anywhere after this...no interest in getting lost again Not everyone uses GPS: we are North American and it was too expensive to buy data on our phones. We drove around PDD for 20 minutes at least, which was so tiring; we had skipped lunch because we wanted to arrive at our destination at a decent time. We found the Posada only because we knew it was near a restaurant which has signs all over the place in PDD...we went in circles repeatedly until finally we found it. Be sure that you have GPS or very clear instructions. On arrival, we then hunted around trying to find a staff person, then waited two hours to speak to the other owner, who speaks French, and who had just arrived himself; during the low season, both owners may be absent so if you are hoping to speak with someone in English or French...that may not happen. Once he was able to speak with us, Jean very, very graciously took us in his car downtown to point out a couple of restaurants: it was a Monday and almost everything was closed. Jean also showed us where to buy fresh fruit and veggies. Jean also helped us buy some fish. He mentioned that we should watch the fisherman cleaning the fish; otherwise they may sell us old fish. Our fish was very fresh!! He could not have been more helpful. We stayed in PDD 4 nights during the low season (late November); it seemed that only a couple of restaurants would open each day and often, they were packed, so we avoided them and cooked a couple of meals at home...breakfast at home always, and a couple of picnics at the Fort/on the beach. It was almost as if the restaurants were agreeing to take turns staying closed, to maximize their profit. The beaches were not crowded though! One day it really poured, so we had to stay in the cabin; no interest in driving off to other activities and destinations after driving so long to PDD. The cabin was the cutest and nicest little place (we booked the smallest cabin). We had bought a chicken and we roasted it in the oven and had a wonderfully relaxing day. The kitchen is very well appointed. The bed had an imprint in it on one side, where so many bodies have slept. Otherwise, the cabin was perfect. The pool IS very small and there were only a few lawn chairs. Hopefully they add more during the high season. It was super nice to sit outside though and we really enjoyed walking around the gardens, which are kept very well. Restaurants open so late in Uruguay, on North American standards; when we finally got home from dinner on our very long first day, we were absolutely ready for bed but there was a very bright light on the outside of the building, right beside the bed...I assume it is for security reasons. My husband eventually figured out how to turn it off so we could go to sleep.... We also enjoyed eating on our own little deck, at our own little picnic table.
