I came here with Gadventures. I loved the boat ride (2 hours) to get there. Rooms were nice and comfortable. Somewhat rustic. Our tour guide was Elvis and he was very good and very funny. I'm so glad he was our guide. The night walk was interesting but our day trip was fantastic even with the pouring rain. Food was excellent. One note is to be careful about anything edible or even that smells (Soap) in your room. Myself and the person next to me battled a Large Rat all night and he damaged our packs and some clothing. I could see hole in the mesh where the hammock was on the deck and it seems that was the entry point for the rats. They left Feces in the showers and other areas. Be aware

Thank you NorthguyBC, for recommending our Tambopata Ecolodge to other travelers looking to experience a remote jungle location. It's important for us to know that you enjoyed your time with us in the Peruvian Amazon basin. Our staff are being trained now to ensure that all our guests understand food should not be kept in the cabins. Because our lodge is located in an authentic and remote rainforest setting, the forests we conserve and which surround our buildings are filled with Amazon wildlife. And, as we mention in an article on our website's blog, dated February 2019, of the estimated 430 mammal species found in the tropical and subtropical forests of the Amazon, the majority are rodents, ranging from tiny mice to giant capybara! Thank you again NorthguyBC for visiting us, and for recommending our Tambopata Ecolodge as a great place to stay and to enjoy excursions in the Amazon basin in the company of experienced and personable naturalist guides!!

Came here with a group tour for 2 nights. The place next to the river is great and the buildings and layout really good. The food, drink and service was very good - although it did take a long time at the bar! The huts are very well laid out with very comfortable beds showers etc. There were animals (mice and rats) that come in and ‘ravage’ your bags if you have any food (or smell of food) in your bags, so ensure you remove all traces and hang them up! No electricity yet in the rooms and charging available for 4-6 hours a day in the bar. Great tours and trips with the team, so fully endorse - 4 star only because of the animal ingress to the rooms which wasn’t emphasised enough when we arrived

Thank you Mark D for taking the time to recommend our Tambopata Ecolodge to other travelers. It's good to know you were comfortable during your stay and that you enjoyed the excursions included in your itinerary. We're sorry that our staff did not make it clear to you that food should not be kept in the rooms. Thanks to your comment, we will certainly make sure that all our guests understand the importance of not storing food in their cabins. Tambopata Ecolodge was very good. The food was good and substantial and the endless supply of water, coffee and juices much appreciated. The night walk and night caiman searching were fascinating as was the brief trip to nearby oxbow lake. I loved the wildlife, river and jungle even though drenching everything in DEET and me drenched in sweat were uncomfortable. I could easily have stayed another night.

Thank you so much lizzie12017 for telling other travelers how much you enjoyed your stay with us at Tambopata Ecolodge. It's great to read that you saw so much wildlife before you even got to the Ecolodge, during the river journey from the town into the untouched forests where we are located. This place blew our minds. Some might find the boat trip a on the long side but we all loved it. the rooms were clean with extremely comfortable beds. Our guide was brilliant and extremely knowledgeable. We are already planning a return trip. If I had to moan Ide say that some air-conditioners would be most welcome but I understand its not practical. Breakfasts were excellent and the bar well stocked. This is a nature lovers paradise.

Thank you so much DanielM1734 for taking the time to tell other travelers how much you enjoyed your time with us at Tambopata Ecolodge, in Peru's Amazon basin. It's great to read how you got the most out of the boat trip to the Ecolodge, which as you know is long because we are located 68 kilometers from the nearest town, Puerto Maldonado, in a remote and unspoiled tropical forest ecosystem. It was also good to read how you enjoyed the company of one of our expert naturalist guides. We all hope you will visit us again on the return trip you are planning! We look forward to having you as our guests once more. Please accept our warmest regards, from the entire Ecolodge team.
