We spent 5 nights here in January. The Pousada is perfectly situated on Third Beach about a minute off of the Island's main boardwalk - set farther back from the boardwalk makes it much quieter. The hotel is very clean, the breakfasts boast a large variety and the staff are very helpful and respond to questions immediately. There is a lovely lounge on the top floor with hammocks to relax in and I believe all rooms with a patio or balcony, also offer a hammock. The Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty but the lounge upstairs has great reception. We experienced a medical issue during our stay and thanks to the quick thinking of Koqueline (sp?) at the front desk, who called the owner, Alex, everything was taken care of. Alex immediately jumped in and arranged all of the help and transport we needed to the medical centre - he totally went above and beyond! Kail at the front desk speaks English and was also very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We were in room 5 on the main floor at the back - it had a patio but was a tad dark.

we spent 2 nights at the pousada before New Year. the pousada is in one of the many side streets off the main beach "road" close to all main attractions. when booking we were scared that it may be far from everything but it very close to all the beaches and restaurants. the room was upstairs with a balcony and hammock which is nice to laze in. the room itself was very clean with ac and curtains that block the light. the bathroom is small but clean and serves all needs. the breakfast was the usual Brazilian type with cake, cold meats and cheeses and breads.

Rooms are good with enough space and very clean. The hotel is can be reached through a small alley from the 3rd beach (allthough this is not really a beach...). The windows cannot be closed properly so if you are on the ground floor put your valuables in the safe.

Thanks for your coments. Only want to say that i use to go swiming here, at the 3rd beach, just few hundreds meters from the pousada. May not be the best beach, but for shure it´s one. If you coudn´t close the window, we have staff to repair anything that doesn´t work. Any way Morro it´s a very safe place and never happend that thieves come into the garden. Hope we can see you in the future.

Pousada Borboleta is a safe, well located, well appointed and comfortable pousada. We were met by Alex, who was warm, genuine and of every assistance during our stay. I am a light sleeper, but slept very well in the quiet and air conditioned room. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was to north american standard in water flow and tempurature range. sheets and towels were clean and of good quality. The breakfast in the morning (8:00 - 10:00) was well supplied with fruits, juices, cakes, coffee (with hot milk) tea, cereals, yogurt and clean protein... The posada is located less than a 30 second walk off the more quiet third beach, also about a ten minute walk to the centre of the village. Alex was very helpful in things such as printing transfer vouchers and very giving of information, during our stay.

They offer big and cleany rooms with comfortable beds. The staff is very freindly and helpful and will give you indications about what to do in Morro. The biggest highlight is the breakfast. They offer variaty of things that other pousadas do not have and also serve delicious fresh juices. This was definetely the best breakfast I have had in Brasil

First of all, the advertising said: "hammock in every room", but not on mine, receptionist said was because my room was bigger with two balconies, no hammock then :/ lol. Bedroom's TV size 15" I guess, very small, I didn't even turn it on but if you are one TV person, that's not a good option. Builders and trucks made very noise the street behind the Pousada early in the morning. Good value of money anyway, but could be cheaper. Breakfast excellent. Comfy room.

Response from Toni D, Gerente at Pousada Borboleta

Our advertising is clear and honest. We have 15 rooms, standard SIZE, all of them with hammacock and garden view. We have double or triple rooms, but 4 people can't fit into any of them. You made a reservation for 3 people in a TRIPLE ROOM but you arrived at the Inn with another guest, and needed a room for 4 people. We offered you an apartment (which isn't for sale on Booking.com) and you acepted it, because it was the only way for the 4 of you to stay together. You won't find photos of that apartment in Booking.com because we only sell it directly by our personal e-mail. That apartment is a little bit noisier than the standard ones because it's close to the road where the bus and the workers pass by from morning to evening - not night, but we offered you to change room the last night to a standard room (it was only 3 people then) and you decided not to move downstairs. We are glad that you liked the rest of our inn, but it's not fair that you talk about fake advertising when we have a 24' TV, one that you didn't even turn on while the people who like to watch television always turn it on and are satisfied by what they get because it's what we offer on our ads.

I haven't stayed at Borboleta but saw the rooms which seemed clean and in a good order in comparison to other places offered in Morro de Sao Paulo. The reception desk was very helpful and it was nice to be able to communicate in English. Great place for the money.

I stayed this Pousada six nights in October 2014, house keeping staff impressed me with their professional cleanliness and extra care towards your personal belongings. I have had to leave a good tip for the girls looking after my ground floor room No: 1 being the room I occupied throughout my stay. Breakfast girls were extraordinary by making that extra mile in making fried eggs for me exactly to my liking for all six days. Reception team and their owner manager Alex always on top of all situations.

Really happy with this place. For the price compared to everything else close by you can't beat it. Convenient location to the beach. Very comfortable bed. Super helpful English speaking staff/owner. And no complaints with breakfast at all.
