We had the most amazing wedding we could have ever imagined and wished for, my now husband has been going to the island for the last 30 years; and there is not a more amazing, gorgeous place to do your wedding than Tierra del sol. We did research and went to every single venue on the island, and Tierra del sol is number 1. Since the first time that we met with Jorge and Emilio and all their staff were Beautiful, food is excellent, we’re picky eaters ! The day of the wedding everyone at Tierra del sol made our date perfect, everyone was excellent, customer service was 100% on point, food excellent, something really important for us is honesty, and that’s one of the biggest values for Tierra del sol! Thank you everyone from Tierra del Sol for making our day unforgettable. The guests can’t stop commenting on the amazing Food and Service !…
In July 2022 Tierra del Sol hosted our 120-guest wedding ceremony- and party. From the very beginning till the end everything went super smooth! We can not thank Emilio Geerman and Jorge Estrada and staff enough! They are professional, easy to work with and very accommodating, not to mention the patience and input of ideas and suggestions based on their experience in the field. We had a wonderful party. Our guests are still talking about how nice and beautiful everything was! We highly recommend this venue for all of the above stated! Love, Kristel & Javier
I recently had my 60-person wedding at Tierra del Sol in July 2022! I can't say enough great things about the venue! It was absolutely beautiful for my sunset wedding! The guests all couldn't believe the setting! Emilio Geerman was wonderful to work with and made everything perfect. We had an amazing experience with catering and staff! I would highly recommend this venue for a perfect Aruba wedding!
I took my sons and nephew out in Mid July 2022. 18 holes - rented clubs. Over $ 600 for the round. Inside staff not too friendly, outside only had one gentleman who was great. The driving range was included but most of the balls were cracked, shredded or barely playable. The rented clubs were okay but for the price, a towel would have been nice. One of the carts had a rake and the other didn't. One of them had repair mix and the other didn't. One of them had GPS that didn't work. I had played here 20 years ago and i can say the course has gone downhill. The views are great, the design is great but the conditions were not the best. Not worth $ 150 a round but still a must play if on Aruba.
This is a review only for the golf course!!! The course was barely passable. While we expected dry conditions, as Aruba is a desert island, the course had not seen water in some time. The fairways are brown, the greens shaggy, and it doesn’t appear the cups are moved much at all. For a RTJ course, and the cost associated, I expected considerably more than I got. Back home, I would expect to pay less than half of what this cost.
We hosted our wedding at the amazing lighthouse terrace at Tierra del Sol. Emilio helped us plan the perfect event and coordinated all food, beverage, and main furnishings. He even helped us add some additional activities including a golf mat for guests to enjoy during the cocktail hour. Emilio worked well with our wedding planner who coordinated decorations and other vendors. Our guests raved about how delicious the food was (particularly the mushroom soup) (no seriously try the soup even in Aruba). The servers were incredibly attentive, ensuring our guests always had what they needed and refilling any food or beverages that were running low. I really appreciated Emilio's prompt communication throughout the process and loved that week of we only had to do a quick walk through to end up with the perfect event. We had the time and space to enjoy with our families and friends while feeling confident our event was in good hands. Emilio also helped us coordinate a few activities including relaxing spa time after the wedding Highly recommend hosting any event here!…
We really don’t know where to start. This is the place to be if you are looking to get married in Aruba!!! Emilio is the best and the most respectful gentleman you will ever meet. The venue is beautiful, the food is A1, and the service is stellar. We wish we could get married every weekend at the place! The Skerrit’s
This would be a one star review as the course is currently unplayable due (according to the staff) to not having water. It's like playing golf on the moon. It was bad and was out $475! for my two ball. I emailed the pro/pro shop (James) and was partially reimbursed which being a tourist area in Aruba was mildly surprised and appreciated it. So it gets 3 starts and the hope they can get the course repaired; it is a good design, Robert Trent Jones and would be a good course if it were maintained.
I am not sure what happened to this beautiful golf course. It appears as if the water has been turned off for a long time and has allowed it to really deteriorate. I think they’re trying to help it recover now but in the meantime very difficult conditions. The greens are terrible, fairways are brown and the traps. are weedy. Perhaps they can get it to recover soon, but in the meantime it’s sad to see a beautiful project deteriorate so much.
Have played this course over the last 18 years. Golfed this year on March 3, 2022. The course, particularly the fairways were in poor condition. We were told that the Aruban government banned irrigation during Covid. That would not explain weeds growing in traps. The greens fees at $159 have not been reduced from prior years due to the condition. Rental clubs at $55 were worn. Should be replaced each year. Staff were apologetic. Appears the management/owners are taking advantage of the monopoly they have on golf being the only 18 hole course on the island. Robert Trent Jones would not be happy with what was allowed to happen to his disign. Lunch at the restaurant was super.
