This year we decided to go to the Tierra del Sol restaurant near the lighthouse. We were shown to our table at the north-west corner of the terrace where we could look out over the golf course, lighthouse and ocean as we watched the sun settle down in the west. The waiter explained the happy hour "dollars become florins" pricing, and we settled back with a glass of wine soaking up the setting. We don't often order appetizers, but this time decided to try the fried calamari and the white fish and shrimp ceviche. Both were delicious as were the entrees, Oriental Chicken and Jumbo Shrimp. Dessert of Quesillo and Dutch Apple Crumble Pie washed down with Irish Coffee put a fine finish to a wonderful evening out. We certainly plan on returning to Tierra del Sol on our next trip to Aruba.

Friday 12/11/21 we had our wedding at Tierra del Sol.
It was amazing!!!!
The location is super beautiful; we had enough space at the poolside for welcome champagne, dinner, dancing and chill space
The total staff was super friendly and professional And special the help and service of Emilio Geerman was tremendo.
The food was super; delicious, more than enough and lot of variety The drinks were super: premium brands, fresh and on good temperature
Actually everything was amazing all guests enjoyed

Booked the stay all day package with the spa. The grounds of the property are really nice, well maintained and staff were really nice during our stay. The spa was nice, it’s not a five star but for the price compared to others on the island it’s cheap and cheerful. I found the massage okay it wasn’t the best I have ever had but also not the worst. It was good. I liked the facilities, they were standard good. Everyone was very hospitable and accommodating. The restaurant food was really good. We enjoyed our lunch. The pool was really nice only downside was all the horribly behaved children that were everywhere in the pool. The parents paying no attention to what these kids were doing. Toys everywhere in the pool, sheer madness and very annoying. If I paid to stay at this hotel for a full week and had to deal with miss behaving children and parents more focused on drinking I would be super upset. One of the children did a number two in the pool as well while we were there. Needless to say that was they end of my pool day. Maybe the employees should enforce some of the pool rules I see posted or put another children’s pool in so people by the pool can get some quiet time. Place just seems very overrun by children.

I have been going to this resort for 10 years but this year was different ;ever since Ingrid the manager retired Last year things have gone downhill I checked in January 2020 for a stay of eight nights in a five bedroom villa .we Checked in on Wednesday evening & to our surprise there was no Wi-Fi or access to the telephone since the line was down I had to call front desk with my cell phone the entire stay .also the house was so dirty .some sheets on the beds were stained the coffee pot was never washed and there was still coffee in the filter from the last people who were in this house 🤮filthy filthy. The master bathroom smelled like a subway urinal I kept telling the housekeeping staff that it stunk but they didn’t seem to care. They said so use a different bathroom in the house. During my stay which includes housekeeping we never had towels ,.the housekeepers dump it in the washing room and never come to check on it .I was basically doing the washing and drying and folding the entire stay. One night The house alarm went off at 3 AM and when I called the front desk to turn off the alarm (the next morning) they said it’s going to have to be done through the alarm company which will take four days ...I told them this is ridiculous because last year we had the same thing happen (but not at 3 am) and they sent maintenance and the hotel maintenance worker shut it off in three seconds!!! All they had was excuses excuses. ... Myrna by the front desk was very nasty super nasty Upon check out My husband went to pay for our stay to finalize the bill and he saw two charges of $250 for “broken items” when he questioned the front desk they said We simply moved the plant out of the way (it was right by the front door) and they said “it’s broken “ I unscrewed the shower handle from the hose because the water pressure was so light - that I needed more force (stronger water pressure when u unhook the handle ) so I detatched the handle and they also said “it’s broken “ meanwhile all you need to do is re attach the handle onto the hose ,which I did ..I sent them a video of me doing that so they see it’s not “broken” idiots also they charged us For extra laundering because my baby bedwetted the crib ONE time but they told us he did it EVERY DAY and they have to wash the sheets (which they didn’t. They left it like that ) and they might need 2 throw away the plastic mattress he was sleeping on ! so they charged us another $200 for that ! which is ridiculous and a lie . flat out lie I left the resort super angry and deceived. Never going back there. So sad that Ingrid de Marcena retired. She was lovely to deal with for all my reservations and my needs while in TIerra del sol. Now management is just plain nasty Plan your stay somewhere else than TIerra del sol.

Dear Mrs. S. Thank you for your review. Needless to say, we are disappointed that your vacation fell short of your expectations. Especially since our goal at Tierra del Sol Resort & Golf is to provide a great customer service experience, as so many of our happy guests reviews can attest to. We were happy that you were the first guest to stay in this house after renovations of the home and the purchase of all brand new beddings for the house. Since you’ve taken your valuable time to post such a detailed review, we’d be remiss if we didn’t address some of your comments for clarification, as well as the edification of others who may be reading this post. We need to clarify that you have been coming to the property for 3 years, not 10 years. Check-in: The house was checked prior to your check-in, as we always do, and no bad smell was detected in any part of the house. The house had a total of 40 bath towels (8 per bathroom), 30 hand towels (6 per bathroom), 30 wash clothes (6 per bathroom) and 10 beach towels. Your party check-in at 3:45pm and at 7:48pm, your party called to complain that there were not enough towels in the house and that there were no WIFI. The guest was informed to please review the bathroom and closet carefully in order to verify that there were sufficient towels placed in the house. A representative was sent immediately in order to check the WIFI and phone and everything was working properly. Your party called again regarding the WIFI and once again a representative checked the WIFI connection and everything was working properly. Two extra Housekeepers was assigned to assist with the daily service and cleaning of the house. On one of the days, Housekeeping staff were instructed by the guests to come back later in the day to do the service, our Housekeepers unfortunately were not able to complete the laundry due to the time, load and how long it takes to complete a wash cycle, in which case guest was provided more than enough towels for 1-night. Housekeepers uses the laundry room that is outside of the house for their service cleaning station and to do the laundry of the house. In the laundry room 2-loads was left to continue for the next morning; one that was unfinished and the other load that was drying in the dryer. The laundry room is intended to be used by the housekeeping staff, but this is not an excuse for the inconvenience you might have encountered, and we apologize. The following day, Housekeepers went to the house to do their daily service/laundry cleaning and the villa rental department was requested by the housekeepers to be present immediately since our staff found themselves in a hostile situation with the guest. Due to the language barrier between the housekeeping staff and the guests, the villa rental staff was present and assisted in translating both parties in which the demands of the guests were met accordingly to their satisfaction. On this day our housekeeping staff worked overtime in order to comply with all the guest requests. During the stay: A crib was never provided since there was no baby in the house to occupy the crib. However, a rollaway bed (with a regular mattress, not plastic) was provided for the guest grown child, but we can understand that every child is a baby in the eyes of their mother. Housekeepers staff reported multiple times that the rollaway bed had been urinated on, in which case our housekeeping staff took care of all bedding and the mattress of the rollaway each time. Due to our hygienic policies, the rollaway bed needed to be replaced at the end of the stay for a new one, which was informed to the guest and needed to be charged along with the two broken vases and animal sculpture that were broken by the guests. The alarm that went off was from the home next door, which was around 3pm in the afternoon. This was confirmed by the security company of that house and was taking care of immediately. We are saddened that Tierra del Sol Resort & Golf did not meet your standards this time. We realize that our company policies are not for every traveler; our guests choose to stay with us because of our friendly staff, our great customer service and the relaxed experience that lets our guests escape the hustle and bustle. We want all guests visiting Aruba to have a memorable experience, even if it is not with us, that is why we hope that you will find a suitable accommodation to your satisfaction when returning to our One Happy Island. The worst meal in Aruba!!! We could not eat either meal we ordered. Do not waste any time or money coming to this restaurant. Rather get a beer and a bag of Doritos. It truly is a shame. This use to be a fantastic location to sit on the porch with a live saxophone player eating a true nice well prepared meal. Then enjoy a nice after dinner drink and a cigar if preferred. Wow I don’t think the cats who were wandering around the restaurant would eat the tuna or beef either.
Aruba is one happy island. Just don’t spend it here.

We had drinks, appetizers and lunch here 3 times over our visit to Aruba. Beautiful grounds! While this is a semi-private club, we were warmly welcomed. The views across the golf course, on to the lighthouse and ocean were incredible! Service was relaxed and a little slow when it was busy, but perfectly fine. The pro shop has logo golf balls ($3) and several sale items.

We are very pleased to have ventured to this new dining experience for us … Taxi to Nord almost to the Lighthouse … may add to the dining expense but it’s well worth it … The location is priceless … the facility offers creative, spacious, high end dining seating in a variety of settings … the gourmet food and wonderful professional service was wonderful … we shared a salad, each enjoyed the Chef fish special … Mahi Mahi + Barracuda with excellent fresh mixed vegetables … the de-caf cappuccino was 4.5 stars ! We had one month to plan our wedding when we sat with Mr. Emilio at Tierra del Sol. This is one of my favorite places on the island. I love to dine and take my spa day there. When I introduced my husband to the place he felt immediately in love with the view and at that moment we decided that we would get married here. Due to the pandemic we had already postponed our wedding 2 times, and we had planned to get married in Curacao. Everything went really well planning the wedding with Emilio, he is the best. I also got to meet Ghislaine who gave me valuable advise. Thank you very much Ghis. When it was the day of the wedding the weather turned really bad. When they had everything set up for our dream garden wedding outdoors it began raining. Emilio called me immediately and explained to me the change of plans to do it indoors, I trust Emilio completely and I just told him go ahead. And believe me they did a wonderful job and I know they worked really hard to do the whole set up indoors. When I arrived for the ceremony I was really impressed and everything looked sharp and elegant. All of our guest had a wonderful time, everything was perfect, the food and desserts were really delicious, the drinks were top and most important the service was A+. Thank you so much Emilio and the whole staff who made from this rainy day the best day of our lives.

We hosted our wedding at the amazing lighthouse terrace at Tierra del Sol. Emilio helped us plan the perfect event and coordinated all food, beverage, and main furnishings. He even helped us add some additional activities including a golf mat for guests to enjoy during the cocktail hour. Emilio worked well with our wedding planner who coordinated decorations and other vendors.
Our guests raved about how delicious the food was (particularly the mushroom soup) (no seriously try the soup even in Aruba). The servers were incredibly attentive, ensuring our guests always had what they needed and refilling any food or beverages that were running low.
I really appreciated Emilio's prompt communication throughout the process and loved that week of we only had to do a quick walk through to end up with the perfect event. We had the time and space to enjoy with our families and friends while feeling confident our event was in good hands.
Emilio also helped us coordinate a few activities including relaxing spa time after the wedding
Highly recommend hosting any event here!

We’ve been coming to the restaurant since the golf course opened. The restaurant has been newly remodeled with more protective outside dining overlooking the course. Our lunch, pulled pork tacos and a burger were great and reasonably priced. We didn’t get to play golf or have dinner there this year so can’t comment on them. Lunches always have been great and competitively priced with other places. Hard to beat their view

Congratulations on your 18th anniversary. Tierra del Sol Resort & Golf would be a wonderful place to celebrate your 18th anniversary with your husband. Tierra del Sol is one of the most exclusive places on the island, it has the only 18th hole golf course on the island, which I am sure your husband will enjoy. When you book with Tierra del Sol you get 50% off of the golf green fee, which of course is all the better. Tierra del Sol is one of the most relaxing places with the best spa, if you rent a villa there it has it's own private pool, or you could also use the clubhouse pool, which is also amazing and relaxing. When you stay there you get daily housekeeping, so you'll really stay true to your wanting to do nothing and really be able to relax.
They have concierge there, so if you need to make any reservations they can help you.

The spa is under constant review to better the service for it's clientele. But a direct remark to them would solve any matter immediately and that would be my suggestion also.
