We have stayed 5 days recently at this hotel and were really impressed. After being in at least 5 different hotels in the area over the last few years Herods stands above by a wide margin in all categories. Mainly management, facilities, dining room & food, and guest satisfaction. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The spa area is spotless with always ample towels, lounging chairs in front of the pool, and a service person present. The dining room is well managed at all times by the dining room manager Yosef, who can be seen at breakfasts, lunches, and dinners running a tight ship. Waiters are courteous and efficient, and the food is plentiful and varied. Really it is difficult to find anything to complain about from reception to the beach lifeguard. Of course, due the hotel being situated right on the water, gives it an advantage over all other hotels located further from the Dead Sea beaches. There are also small touches, like having chocolate bars in a jar near the reception, or a bottle of wine in rooms on arrival. But maybe the most impressive part of all is the friendly and attentive staff. That's something that the management should be proud of. We shall definitely come back next year.

Having looked at almost every other hotel in the area, we finally chose Herods as, despite it's dubious exterior, offered a really well appointed exterior, with great amenities in the spa, a lovely outdoor pool (which the ambient temperature was a little too cool to enjoy), wonderful treatments (massage and facial) and really great access to the private beach.
There were staff everywhere, attending to every detail, and the breakfast buffet was one of the best we've ever enjoyed - anywhere! The evening meal (also a buffet) was plentiful, varied and tasty and, the dining room is sufficiently large for everyone to enjoy their meal in comfort.
The hotel is about 3km outside the main tourist centre, but there are bikes which are free to hire.
In the evening, we were entertained by a terrific singer, who really new how to get the crowd up and partying - a master!
We would thoroughly recommend and look forward to our next visit - soon.

We stayed at The Harods Dead Seas hotel and Spa for 2 night, we’re a large group (36+ ppl) visiting the area from the US. The staff were incredible friendly and helpful during check in and check out, Vanessa, Natalia and Daniela accommodated our group fast and hassle-free.

We had all our meals at the location, and there were plenty of options to choose from. The restaurant is buffet style, Chef Tsvika Alexandre and Sara always had local food served, but there were also Asian and Western dish options on the buffet for Breakfast, lunch and Dinner. The Dinning room were always clean and neat for all our guests, thanks to Yosef and Farhan.

Pool area was very well kept, plenty of space to sit and relax under an umbrella after floating (and sweating) on the Dead Sea Beach, which is only a few yards away from the pool area. The Pool area closes at 6:30pm… a bit too early in our opinion since the sun was still shining, we wished it would have stayed open for another hour or 2. There’s a kiosk in the pool area serving snacks and drinks.

The room was always clean, they service and clean the rooms daily. Comfortable bed with plenty of pillows and blankets,

Our group truly enjoyed our time at the Harods and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to enjoy the Dead Sea with friends or family. A special thanks to the Hotel GM Reuma, who assisted our group from the time we booked the trip until check out.

This is not our first time at the hotel and this time we were very disappointed
First of all the last time we were even before the corona we entered the room and the bed sheets were dirty full of hair and stains. It was so repulsive but at that moment the service manager Sapir made sure to replace everything and gave us a meal as compensation and reprimanded the staff and I was sure they will take care about it . This time too we went into the room and there were unclean bed sheets with hair, the workers just did not changed from guest to guest. This time we waited an hour until they came to change.
Second thing - there is a decrease in the quality of the food and the selection of dishes. it feels like the waiters also "did a favor "when they came to clear dishes or pour coffee.
Third thing - cleanliness. There were lumps of dust in the rooms, a cockroach’s corpse at the entrance to the pool that nobody cleaned for 3 days.
We understand that the hotel was damaged in Corona but reducing the staff by half and thus lowering the level of service in the hotel but charging high amounts is wrong.
The highlight was that on two nights we were stung in bed at night through our clothes.
Highly do not recommend this hotel

Calling this a 5* hotel is an absolute joke.
The hotel and rooms are very cheaply decorated and dated. Rooms are tiny, and were barely cleaned during our stay.
The bathroom in both our rooms had a lot of mold, showing how poorly it is cleaned.
The "heated" pool was freezing, the staff didn't even bother putting out recliners or chairs.
The daybeds in the inside pool and the beach are filthy and look like they have never been cleaned.

The service was absolutely terrible-
* Checkin and checkout took 45 minutes of waiting in line.
* When we tried to book a taxi through the hotel to Masada, they quoted us 100 NIS more than the taxi company did directly
* We celebrated my son's 6th birthday, and when we asked if the hotel would be able to provide balloons or something like that, they said that they charge for that- I was absolutely shocked that a "5 star" hotel, where we were paying over $500 a night for each room actually charged for that.

I booked three rooms for one night for an overnight with my daughter and grandchildren. We arrived in the afternoon and after a late lunch wanted use the indoor pool. It was too cold for the sea and the kids wanted to swim so we thought that it would be great. We were unpleasantly surprised when we were refused entry to the pool since the grandchildren I was with are under 16. The indoor pool is part of the spa and the spa doesn’t allow children under 16.
This rule is not clear from the hotel’s literature and handout we received on checking in. When my daughter went to complain the night manager rudely told her these are the rules and if we don’t like it he would refund our money and we could find another hotel. As that wasn’t bad enough the next morning after I had left the room my wife and granddaughter were in the room still in bed at 7am with a do not disturb sign on the door when a bellman walked into the room without knocking. When my wife asked him what he was doing he said luggage and when my wife told him to get out he replied “no English”.
His English was fine when he picked up our luggage on check out.
I gave the hotel 2 stars because the day staff and manager were properly apologetic and tried to make amends.

In the hotel now - service is terrible. No help with bags on arrival (bell boy nowhere to be found, front desk not helpful). Only 2 small towels in room - when I called for more towels for our family of 4 the operator said she only spoke Russian and when I was transferred, the phone only rang and rang. There is a hot tub on the deck, and only cold water comes out of the faucet. Bummer for such a great location and the money paid.

We arrived after long 3 hours drive, our vacation supposed to be 4 nights celebration birthday. The reception desk lady (Marina) was unpleasant rude asked for payment without telling us anything about the hotel and about the room options for us. We payed for junior suite room. The room we received was in bad shape, and doesn't worth the 2000$ we payed for it. We tried several times to call front desk but was no answer.

Very bad choise for us :(

Stayed with my wife 2 nights middle of the week. The hotel is just nice and not feels or looks like a Deluxe Hotel. It's a " Covid-19" time and unfortunately stuff especially in the dinning room are not wearing a mask properly (wearing the mask with your nose uncovered it's just as serious as not wearing at all).
Breakfast was very basic. nothing exiting which will make you feel deluxe even though as mentioned it's Corona time. I expected more as i got the impression from this web site this is No. 1 Hotel in the area.
I stayed in an Executive Garden (with Pool) Room with direct access to a narrow but nice swimming pool which i defiantly enjoyed. The hotel look outdated the service was OK , the mini bar was empty while i personally prefer it to be with snacks and drinks.

The view from the room is beautiful and the swimming pool area is spacious and relaxing. The tennis needs some restoration . The food is disappointting: lots of choice but the quality is average. No mineral water and beverage available at dinner, face masks are not worn properly by staff at dinner and when cleaning the rooms!!
