Don't miss! I thought this hike might be overrated but it's not. It's interesting and beautiful - very much like the photos! We walked the gorge trail, which was about 3 miles, and took us an hour and a half. We stopped quite a bit to take photos. There are people here from all over the world, so it's busy, but... More

This was my first visit to Watkins Glen state park. I went with my family to enjoy the waterfalls and the hike. Bring good shoes, because the main hike is 1.5 miles and 832 steps. Well worth taking your time to view the scenery in the gorge during the hike. You can also take a shuttle to the top or... More

My family and I camped on the Tuscarora loop in campsite # 264. It had a picnic table, a fire place and a spot for the tent. The ground is covered in stones (except for the place for the tent) which makes it impossible to place a tiki torch anywhere. Overall 264 is a quiet campground (unless someone is playing... More

Our large group camped here for 3 nights, July 4th weekend. All 7 families were in various sites within Tuscarora Loop. Adequate space between sites, clean restrooms, new playgrounds, hot showers, Olympic size pool with diving area, separate pool for toddlers/younger kids, and access to gorge trails. We did use the main entrance for the Glen (campers don't need to... More

Camped here on memorial day 2015, Had a wonderful time. Campsites are shaded and very roomy with adequate space in between for privacy. The gorge was so pretty! We went on multiple hikes with beautiful waterfalls along the way.

Well. It is a beautiful place if there were a few hundred less people. We went on a Saturday same weekend as a huge wine festival. Don't do this park on a busy Saturday. Otherwise, I would love to go back when the water is higher. We entered at South Entrance and hiked to Franklin Street shuttle. Shuttled to upper... More

We camped 4 nights in the loop closest to the Gorge access trail. The sites were very crammed together, with little space between one site and the next. We did not feel secluded as one maybe should feel while camping. Everything we did and said could be heard and seen by our neighbors. That being said, the sites themselves were... More

We spent a Fri-Sun at the Watkins Glen State Park Campgrounds. Knowing it was going to be rainy, we hoped for the best as we had a reservation, and crossed out fingers. We stayed on the Onondaga sites. Campsites are larger and there are nice buffers between sites. The first night there, quiet hours (10pm - 7am) were not enforced... More

I couldn't believe a place like this existed on the east coast. The gorge trail was beautiful with great views of the gorge and many waterfalls. It was a little steep in places but there were stairs which made it easier. There were folks of all ages walking the trail and there are so many opportunities to stop and just... More

We camped for two nights in the Onondaga Village loop. It was right by an access trail to the gorge. Our site was convenient to the bathhouse, but was not very private. There was really no separation from the next site. Lucky for us our neighbors were quiet and nice. I could hear the sound of the water in the... More
