I couldn't have been more pleased with the natural beauty this location has. We spent over 3 hours to get to it and was pleasantly surprised at how gorgeous it was. A huge park with turn after turn amazing eyesight. A very nice hike and location. Loved it!!!!

The views are amazing. We stopped to take a lot of pictures while hiking there. Definitely wear hiking shoes as the terrain is uneven and sometimes wet/muddy. Sneaker are okay -- but I feel you need a little bit more stability.

This is a beautiful park, lots of small waterfalls. We visited on the Sunday of labor day weekend so it crowded but it still turned out to be a nice hike. We drove up from NYC. Its not quite worth the drive (4.5 hours) if its the only thing on your itinerary its certainly worth a detour if you're in... More

Beautiful hike through the gorge and lots of waterfalls. The trails are very well maintained though there are lots of stairs (which will make it difficult for stroller or wheelchairs). Make sure you remember your camera and take lots of pictures.

It was a hike all up!!!! 800 steps!!! Please bring cold water and wear good threaded shoes-no flip flops because it is slippery in spots. Beautiful views!!!! A must do and plan on about 2 hours to hike this trail.

It was a beautiful hike up a lot of stone stair cases. The pathway over looks a gorge with waterfalls, shaded by nature We paid $8 to park on September 8 2016. The attendant told us the state will be renovating the park with a new entryway and visitor center. Currently it has a small gift shop and restrooms at... More

We went there Sunday of the Labor day weekend, and we had to park to the adjacent parking lot because of the volume of cars already parked inside the state park; parking fee applies. We got there like 10:30 am. Our friends told us that there is shuttle in the parking lot that would take us to the top and... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our walk through Watkins Glen State Park. Not being youngsters, we opted to pay the $5 each to ride the Shuttle Bus up to the top of the Gorge Trail. It was well worth it. Our driver was entertaining during the brief ride. There are restrooms there. Good idea to visit them before you begin your descent.... More

Just returned from an enjoyable trek through lovely forested parkland. We took the 800 steps to the base of the gorge and enjoyed the waterfalls and steep walls surrounding the hiking path. Bring your camera as it is amazing! The whole experience out and back hike took about an hour but there are several other trails if you want a... More

First off, possibly the most beautiful place in New York State, other than Niagara Falls. You can't believe that such natural splendor is so close to the main road, but it is! Parking is simple, located on either end of the gorge (upper or lower) if you go during the week. Weekends will be tougher. The park is comprised of... More
