The accommodation at Le Mas de Laval was lovely. We loved the spacious room and glorious views from every window. The hosts have everything to hand that you might need and are so gracious and helpful. The breakfast was simple but delicious, I loved the fresh bread and homemade jams. It's in a great spot to explore Saint Cirq Lapopie, and the wider region. Also loved their beautiful dog, who was happy to let us pat his belly!

Fabienne and Guy who own and run Le Mas (apparently Mas means a big farm, according to the local tourist office person) are the epitome of caring hosts - completely welcoming in a very natural and relaxed way, with lots of style in themselves and their home. The room we had (lower level, next to the pool) had a special charm: high ceiling, lots of space, great posters and other decorations, a bath and twin basins hidden behind the big bed. The view through the door's window of the hillside across the way was fantastic to wake up to. The pool's water jets create a calming backdrop plish-plash from just across the way. Between there and the house is a converted barn with big sofas and table for chilling on warm evenings. Breakfast was really good - homemade jams, cheese, excellent coffee, croissant, bread, yoghurt and honey. We learned a Japanese party of eight was flying in soon for exclusive occupancy for a few days. We could understand why. Our thanks to Guy and Fabienne.

My wife and I spent a couple weeks in France and were fortunate enough to stay at Le Mas de Laval. On our trip to France, we talked about "happy accidents," which were unexpected surprises that made our trip so much more special. For us, Le Mas de Laval was one of our best happy accidents! I booked this hotel in St. Cirq Lapopie and thought I had booked at a different location. So, when we turned down the narrow road to reach the farmhouse, we were quite surprised in the most wonderful way! First, the property is breathtakingly beautiful. It is an updated and restored medieval farmhouse property surrounded by woods and a stone's throw from the River Lot. It looks as if it was plucked from a storybook. We were greeted by Fabienne, the most gracious host, and taken to our room which was elegant, modern and incredibly well appointed. It was so comfortable and beautiful. The location was fantastic and Fabienne and Guy were extremely helpful in guiding us in our Mid-Pyrenes adventure. Everything about this property exceeded our every expectation. But, this review would not be complete if I did not really emphasize what amazing, wonderful and hospitable hosts Guy and Fabienne were. We were fortunate enough to be able to spend the evenings with them and their wonderful family and share wine, cheese, stories and lots of laughter with them. We fell in love with the De Blegiers family and cannot wait for our reunion. It is a magical place and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you, Fabienne and Guy for making our stay at your beautiful farmhouse so wonderful! You made his feel like family and we cannot wait to see you and stay at your lovely Mas again!

A stunning house, beautifully decorated, comfortable bedrooms, well-equipped bathrooms, classy and refined. The hosts bent over backwards to make our visit comfortable, giving us all the info on what to visit. Lovely pool to relax by. A real French breakfast with fresh baguette, croissants, coffee ..... even home-made marmalade! Everything was just perfect - a big thank you to Fabienne and Guy and we'll be back soon with our kids this time!

Not so easy to find, so you might want to get ready with some maps or GPS. Amazingly calm and sweet spot to forget the busy everyday life. Laval is located about 5min from the St.-Cirq -Lapopie, which is a stunning medevial village with typical flair from that time. At the arrival we were greeted by friendly hosts, who let you use their guest rooms. The rooms are very spacious and tasty decorated, with all possibile amenities and detailes you might think of. I loved the room, especially the bathroom part. The breakfast is mostly homemade and very traditional, a perfect way to get to know french habits. A quite big pool awaits in front of the guesthouse, which unfortunately due to some bad weather didnt have the chance to test. A few meters away a small open lounge, made for you to relax during the day or in the evening with a glass of fine french wine. The place is a guesthouse, and not a hotel, so you should be aware of that fact. In addition you should pay attention to the opening hours of the restaurant kitchen which are open only at the certain hours-the french way, and you might have to deal with a Menu in french only. Anyways, i was charmed by the village and the beautiful guesthouse, we had the chance to stay at. Thank you very much!!
