I was here for a watercolor workshop with Judy Morris, which was terrific. I was amazed that the owner (William) of this place took us for sight seeing trips almost every day, and William was a font of historical knowledge! I learned so much on this trip, and I can't wait to return. It is so beautiful!!! Rosalie, his wife,...

Wonderful place. It's a beautiful stone house and fabulous grounds. It includes a separate art room. Rooms are spacious, well decorated and comfortable. It's like staying in a castle. French Meals are prepared by chefs. Tours are provided by the host who has a wealth of knowledge. The hosts are American with French ties and as gracious as they come....

Our watercolor group came here with oly "brochure knowledge" of this place. What a wonderful surprise! It is nestled in a valley, lush gardens surround the domaine. There is a great studio for painting AFTER you tour ancient villages, markets and paintings on cave walls made 29,000 years ago! The food was fantastic ! And William took us to fabulous,...

Absolutely a one-of-a-kind experience! You won't want to miss. Hospitality & amenities are perfect. Owners, Rosalie and William Haas, go above and beyond. Every room is perfectly decorated with comfortable seating areas. You will sleep soundly and awaken refreshed. My favorite thing was taking a bath in the deep bathtub. A bountiful homemade breakfast is served daily. The expansive landscape and...

This little B&B in the South of France is outstanding. Rosalie and William are extraordinary!! Want a wine tour - got it, visit a castle - sure, see cave paintings- of course, or maybe the other shroud of Jesus -why not. Or make it a rest stop between other visits and enjoy the pool, the wine, the gardens, the food...

What would you get if you crossed an interior designer with a head for management and haut cuisine with a Renaissance man of American/French parentage who loves history and landscaping? You wold probably get something like Domaine du Haut Baran. In no time guests feel like eagerly anticipated house guests and leave as friends. This chateau had been neglected and...

Nestled in a lush and ancient region of SW France is this Eden for artists, history buffs, and lovers of unspoiled nature. Listed as one of National Geographic's top Secret Places, the Lot Valley has been inhabited for at least 29,000 years, when magnificent cave paintings were made. Mideval castles, towns and churches of honey-colored stone are everywhere, perched impossibly...

Agree with most reviews this place is beautiful, with a stunning pool, huge rooms and a quant french country side location. If you're looking to relax this is perfect. My only gripe would be Breakfast is a little light ....but then jumping into such a beautiful pool shortly after quickly helps the hunger Great stay

Come here and you will be well taken care of by owners William and Rosalie Hass, a warm and friendly French/American couple who have lived here and called this place home for about 15 years. The Haut Baran is located in a quiet rural area in the Lot department of SW France, and the building simply oozes charm and character...
