We had a great time at this lovely place. Beautiful setting in the forest, many monkeys and espacially butterflies at this time. The river right next to it. Lot of moskitos, be prepared for that! Great nature sound during the night. Very friendly and attentive staff. Warm welcome and phantastic room. We really enjoyed the big bathroom, all done in African style and well set up into the nature. Very good food and cold drinks. Laundry worked perfect. Close to the park entrance gate. We will come back again and can really recommend the place! Very good value for the money!
We stayed at Ishasha Jungle Lodge for one night during southbound travel to Bwindi in Uganda. Unlike most lodges in Uganda, Ishasha Jungle Lodge has a focus on being eco-friendly (no plastic bottles, etc.) which is very nice, especially at this location within the jungle. The rooms as well as the restaurant area are very nice, the staff very friendly and the food was very good as well. We would stay there again any time!
If you truly want to unplug from life and take a breath, this is the place to go! Nestled among trees far away from hectic life, you can relax in nature. The food was amazing and the staff was super friendly and helpful. And the place is eco-friendly!
A wonderful place to stay in the middle of the jungle. Generous rooms with bath. The restaurant is exceptional. The tilapia fillet is particularly recommended. We were served an outdoor breakfast, right by the river. Such service is incomparable.
The Ishasha Jungle Lodge is a wonderful eco-friendly lodge, perfect to explore the Queen Elisabeth National Park, and see the famous tree-climbing lions (you have to be very lucky to see them). The Lodge is amazing, you fell in armony with nature and in peace. The staff is extremely friendly, polite and qualified. Levitikas and Robert are very heartful people and help us in every situation. The food is delicious with a wide range of typical local food. Rooms are very clean and comfortable with all the benefits. Due to their green politics, electricity to charge device is available only for some hours, but in case of emergency, the staff could use an extra generator. In the Ishasha Jungle Lodge there is also a river where you can have breakfast and there is the possibility to see baboons, sometimes elephants and other local animals We would strongly recommend this lodge to all. Is one of the most unique place where to stay during you journey in Uganda.…
Staff were so nice you felt they were genuinely your friends even though you're only staying a few nights. Food excellent and service extraordinary. Nothing was too difficult or any trouble. We have stayed in lodges in SA, Tim and Tanzania but Ishasha was the BEST.
… Is this beuautiful eco- lodge with wonderful people . Thank you so much Martín, Moses, Robert and Levitikas for fulfilling us every wish. Your such friendly and heartful people . We felt so good. Also we had lovely food . Excellent. ❤️
The Ishasha Jungle Lodge is a beautiful eco-friendly lodge on the southern part of the Queen Elisabeth National Park, and area famous for its tree-climbing lions. Our experience of the Ishasha Jungle Lodge was very positive. We arrived after a long drive and the staff were very accommodating upon our arrival. That evening we had the immense pleasure of seeing a performance by the children from the local school and orphanage that sang us songs about the importance of the conservation in the area that was truly special. The rooms were large, and the beds were very comfortable. The food was extremely good and for the breakfast we had the privilege to eat by a river in what was a beautiful setting. The staff and chefs were extremely kind and friendly, and we appreciated a lot the service that was given. We would strongly recommend this lodge as we would say that it is one of the most special and unique places that we have stayed in.…
We had just come from the Kyambura Gorge Hike and were completely covered in mud when we arrived. The staff took all of our hiking boots and cleaned them by the time we had changed for supper. I'm a physician and my daughter is in medical school. The local community started a community run clinic since state sponsored medical care is so far away. There is a great plan to eventually grow into a private hospital. Fred took us on a community tour and we were able to visit the clinic which was within walking distance of the lodge. At our return, we were treated by children from the local orphanage that did educational plays about local marriage customs as well as the poaching and protecting of the gorillas. The food of course was outstanding- truly farm to table. Our lodge was spotless and perfectly maintained with a quick walk to the river. The staff were excellent and eager to assist when needed. We enjoyed seeing the monkeys in the trees surrounding the lodge.…
Regarding QENP, my suggestion is to spend as little time in the northern sector as possible and head straight to the southern sector and Ishasha Jungle Lodge. The grounds are park like, very well maintained and beautiful. Plus the lodge is eco-friendly, not just in name, but in practice. Recycled bottles light paths to the luxurious tents. No bottled water, but you are provided filtered water in the room and at meals. Fred, the manager is very attuned to every need, Ambrose, the amazing chef, made delicious vegan and vegetarian meals. Please pay the very modest extra fee and eat your breakfast by the river. Totally worth it and a great experience. It was one of our group's birthday and the staff went FAR beyond any expectation to celebrate. The staff sang songs and danced around our table while presenting a decorated vegan cake. That meal and night was incredibly special. And it wasn't even my birthday. The fun and care that the staff showed was magical. Children from the village put on a show with songs and dance, though better lighting would have helped the experience. The gift shop is filled with locally made items and is reasonably priced. This is a great place for souvenirs as proceeds go straight back to the community. Ishasha Jungle Lodge is a comfortable, relaxing, welcoming place. Also wanted to give a big thanks to Stella and Moses. PS. I traveled during a covid outbreak but the lodge followed all SOPS for safety. Zero concerns regarding anything at this property.…
