Feli welcomed us with open arms and arranged a boat tour and two guided safari tours for us upon arrival. We installed our car with roof top tents on an amazing spot with a beautiful view over the chanel. We could even see and hear the hippos down in the water. At night the hippos came up to eat gras - so better do not go out without a good flash light ;) We definately enjoyed our time in Tembo Safari Lodge - Thank you Feli for the wonderful time, the delicious food and the warm feeling you gave us! I stayed here in November, I had a great time with my German guests, the place is so calm and no unpleasant sounds, have great food and very clean, Nice view on Kazinga Channel and Hippos come close at the lodge, I therefore highly recommend them to everyone staying in Queen Elizabeth National park and would always support.

Tembo is a beautiful project of Fellie and Wilson who run their business with passion and love. I will always remember their honesty and kindness. Moreover, the place is calm and the food is tasty. Life is in the details: they give you hot hand towels before the meals. Nowhere else in Uganda!

We stayed in a cottage on the hill for 2 nights. Beautiful newly built, twin beds with mosquito nets, en suite bathroom (hot water though not much water pressure in shower, western toilet). Hippos are right outside and you can see them from the balcony and hear them all the time- they come near on land right outside which is amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the owner Akiki and Ronald were wonderful. Food was very good, WiFi in common areas. We went on a boat ride on the lake with Sandy which was a short walk from the lodge. Saw hundreds of hippos, water buffalo, lots of elephants, only one crocodile, birds, and monkeys. It was awesome! Only slight issue was the noise level outside- lots of music and noise from the next door village and fisherman docks, and the mosque call to prayer that starts really early in the morning. And of course, hippos honking and snorting all night but that was cool. Great lodge to really be close to nature, and good location by Queen Elizabeth national park- saw prices of elephants just driving into the lodge area.

This is my third time to stay at Tembo, and each time I come back I see improvements. Excellent location right on the channel, boat rides for hippo, elephant, etc just out the door, game drives- twice I've seen leopard on game drives that departed from Tembo. Owners and staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. As a bonus, I've noticed that Tembo tends to attract outgoing and relaxed people which makes it a good place to meet other travelers. Only caution- if you go outside at night, definitely bring a torch (or flashlight) because there is often hippo and sometimes other game just outside!
